Freeze opening another image

I've been experimenting with Beta and have had Photoshop freeze up. It appears to occur if I've used generative fill in an image then go to open a recent image without closing the first. Within the program, all I can see is a freeze-up. If I go into the Window's task bar, it shows Photoshop churning away trying to open the other image, but it never successfully opens. At that point, I go through task manager and close Photoshop down. (I'm generally seeing system memory running at about 75 percent capacity which is high, but not usually fatal on this machine.)

Also, I'd love to have both Beta and a previous version available but CC is telling me Beta will be uninstalled if I try to back-migrate.

Hi @jwithnell

Try resetting Prefs for the Beta:

/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/ Photoshop Beta Settings (Mac Ventura)

/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/Adobe\ Photoshop\ \(Beta\)\ Settings (Mac)
C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop (Beta)\Adobe Photoshop (Beta) Settings )Win)

Launch BETA Photoshop While Pressing The Keyboard Shortcut

With Photoshop closed, press and hold Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Shift+Command+Option (Mac) on your keyboard and then Launch Photoshop the way you normally would.

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.
