Repeatable, latest update to the beta. I select a portion of the image using the lasso tool, hit ctrl+t, and the program immediately locks up and goes into a crash report. I've described the crash in the reports and submitted them.
I've had to stop using the beta as this breaks functionality for me too much to continue using it and it's too easy to crash it. Happy to provide any other information to narrow down what's causing it.

Still crashing with the latest update, however it does not produce a crash report when I trigger the crash now.

Sorry about this crash for you W4tsup.
The team has tried to reproduce this one but so far has been unsuccessful.
Are there any more details you can provide about what your workflow is here to get this crash to happen?
What kind of file are you working on? Does it happen with a new file for instance? If it's with specific files, can you share any of the files with us?
Would you be able to provide Photoshop's help > system info dialog text to us here in this thread?
Regards,
Pete

Oh, also, this may or may not be related - but I switched back to the non-beta photoshop for work because of this and noticed something. The public build does not experience the crash, but I did notice that when I do exact steps outlined before, I do experience significant system lag.
When I do a free transform on another layer using the lasso tool and the same methods posted here, there is a significant system hitching, the entire computer freezes for just a second like it's processing something large, but it does not crash like it does in the beta. This could be unrelated, but I thought I'd mention it since the lag it creates when transforming a non-background layer is significant using the same steps for the beta free-transform crash.
When selecting with the marquee or select all this hitch is not present either, pressing the free transform command is instant. Similar to the crash on beta.

Hey I made a long post (that may have broken the thread) that contained all the information (right above the one where I "this may or may not be related" post), do you see that post? It appears to have vanished on my end, I can repost the information if it's needed.

@W4tsup I'm not seeing the long post, but have noticed some strange hitches when replying to this thread.
If you'd like to email me the details, you can at petgreen@adobe.com
Sorry for the hitch, and thank you!

Many thanks for the email... Have responded there, but wanted to add more details to the thread here.
Really great write up of the steps to crash. Thank you. Instantly crashed after going through them on Win 10 with build 1710.
We did just release a new beta build last night, m.1725, and am curious if you crash with this new build.
I haven't been able to crash 1725 on Windows 10, however Win 11 might be a different story.
When you get a chance, let us know if you still see this crash with the new build!
Hope you have a great weekend, and thanks again for helping keep Photoshop stable!

PG
