Hello.

This message appears when I try to open a file (mockup) that uses Photoshop (Beta). I've also tried to open it via Adobe Creative Cloud, but when I click it, it does nothing.

Would anyone be able to help me?

How are you opening the document? Are you launching Photoshop Beta and choosing File > Open? Can you open it in the released version of Photoshop with File > Open?

Hi @Rafaela36761243v8uv

1. Try resetting Prefs for the Beta:
/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/ Photoshop Beta Settings (Mac Ventura)
/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/Adobe\ Photoshop\ \(Beta\)\ Settings (Mac)

C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop (Beta)\Adobe Photoshop (Beta) Settings

Launch BETA Photoshop While Pressing The Keyboard Shortcut
With Photoshop closed, press and hold Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Shift+Command+Option (Mac) on your keyboard and then Launch Photoshop the way you normally would.

2. It may help if we could see your Photoshop beta System Info. Launch Photoshop beta, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

Thanks,

Cory - Photoshop Product Manager

Hello,

I followed the path you told me but can't find the Adobe Photoshop Beta preferences (see the attached images). I'm the only computer user.

Also, as I can't launch the PS Beta, I can only show you the update that stopped working three days ago. I have a MacBook Air M2, 2023, running macOS Sequoia Version 15.3.

Meanwhile, I'm using Photoshop.

To work on mockups, I usually use PS Beta, so when I open a PSD file, it's predefined to open with PS Beta.

Thank you!

/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/Adobe\ Photoshop\ \(Beta\)\ Settings (Mac)

The Library file is a hidden file on macOS. You need to show your hidden files.

I found the folder. What should I do inside the PS Beta folder? I also tried to launch PS Beta with the shift+opt+ command, and the same error appeared.

Thank you for your help!

The PS Beta has it's own folder.expand image

I don't have PS Beta inside PS folder.expand image

@Rafaela36761243v8uv what are you specs? HD and RAM on that Macbook?

So you are able to open Ps release version? Is the only one that gives you this issue Ps beta?

Thanks,

When you rename or move the prefences file, then Adobe cannot find it and will create a new one. The old one is preserved with the new name or location so you can retrieve it if it does not solve the issue. Photoshop preferences contain Actions, Swatches, Brushes, and other customization, so it's recommend that you back these up first. I do it two ways: using Save in each of the panel menus plus renaming the Preferences file.

Here is the help file with step-by-steps. You'll want to Backup Preferences, followed by Reset Preferences.

@CShubert  8GB RAM and 245GB HD.

Yes, I can open the PS version, and it works. It's only the beta version that is causing me problems. I did the last update (2 days ago) to v26.5, and the problem remains.

When I click Photoshop Beta >> "Open" on the Adobe Creative Cloud, it doesn't open either.

@Rafaela36761243v8uv please paste the full sysinfo...we need to have more info to be able to help.

Launch Photoshop beta, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.  If you can't open Ps beta, do the same for Ps.

@CShubert, I will use the PS version instead of the PS Beta version. Thank you for your help and time! 🙂
