Photoshop BETA - Generative Fill

When I first started using Photoshop BETA and it's new tool, generative fill, it was working 50% of the time consistently. For the most part I would type in my command and 10-20 seconds later I would recieve my 3 variations. There was still the other 50% of the time when the loading bar would reach the end after 20-60 seconds and I would get an error either about checking my internet connection, too many people on the beta/try later, etc. whatever error I receive it always happens the same way after it loads 100% but won't generate variations.

Unfortunately, the errors seem to be more common than generating successful variations. It seems like after the last update or so it almost never works. The only time I can guarantee generative fill will work 100% of the time is when I have a new blank project with a white background, I marquee the entire white image, and type my prompt in. It works flawless without missing a beat. Then if I were to try and marquee any section or piece of that same generated image it almost never generates. Even when I'm using it only to remove selected parts of the image. If I were to start with a random photo and select any part of that image it will not work also. It only seems to work consistently when I select the entire image.

I am running a 2018 MacBook Pro so I do think that is partly the problem as to why it's not consistently generating variations for me but it also isn't making sense since it can't seem to generate or remove small selected parts of already produced images but it can easily generate an entire image if the entire blank working area is selected. I would think that it would be more tough for it to generate a full image rather than small select pieces of already produced photos. Although I do think my computer could be dated and partly the reason it isn't consistent I do believe it should still be more successful at generating that it currently is. At one point is was not perfect, but good enough to rely on and use daily. Now I feel like I can't use it anymore.

Here's my computer specs:

Processor: 2.9 ghz 6-core intel core i9

Graphics: Radeon Pro 560x 4 gb intel uhd graphics 630 1536 mb

Memory: 32 gb 2400 mhz ddr4

MacOS: Ventura 13.5

Hopefully this all makes sense. Any input or help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Kenny

I do fear it could be my hard drive failing but I wanted to reach out here to see if anyone has had similar experiences/solutions or any solutions in general before I take the next step of purchasing a new hard drive.
