Having the "Show Transform Controls" under the gear icon is incomprehensible. A thing that is used often and took one click now takes two clicks.
All of those four items could fit horizontally on an HD screen, only half of a 4K screen lol. No logic to a gear icon whatsoever, its like we're being trolled.
Why does the Adobe Photoshop team have zero staff or tetsters who actually use Photoshop?
I've tagged this conversation as a bug, because... c'mon.... it has to be changed back.

You realize that Photoshop remembers these settings?
As to it taking two clicks, didn't 'Show Transform Controls' used to be a Preference setting? It had to have taken way more time changing it in Preferences than in the Options Bar.

I have to agree - it's a major muscle memory change to hide specifically the "Show Transform Controls". I'd even compromise to hide the other items under the gear but keep the "auto select (layer/group)" and "show transform controls" in the open visible in the Options bar.

@Trevor.Dennis it's not a matter of Photoshop remembering settings - this feature is toggled on and off a lot so adding clicks to access adds up.
This has been in Photoshop ever since the Options bar was released in Photoshop 6.
It was called "Show Bounding Box" back then:

No it was not in preferences. It was right there in the bar. It took one click.

I hope they revert back to what it was. Makes absolutely zero sense whatsoever.
