Subtract blending does not work on Photoshop (Beta) v. 25 and v. 24.7

I have an old Dell, 32GB, Windows 10-64bit, Nvidia GT 1030.

While I'm sure everybody is focused on the AI side of Photoshop Beta, here is a glitch I found that's non-AI related.

When I try to use frequency separation, the Subtract blending in the Apply Image drop-down comes out black instead of gray. While some of the blending modes work, the "linear light" blending mode does not work and the layer stays black. The Frequency Separation technique works well in none-beta Photoshop 24.7

Hi @jjgallegos

Try resetting Prefs for the Beta:

/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/ Photoshop Beta Settings (Mac Ventura)

/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/Adobe\ Photoshop\ \(Beta\)\ Settings (Mac)
C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop (Beta)\Adobe Photoshop (Beta) Settings )Win)

Launch BETA Photoshop While Pressing The Keyboard Shortcut

With Photoshop closed, press and hold Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Shift+Command+Option (Mac) on your keyboard and then Launch Photoshop the way you normally would.

It may help if we could see your Photoshop beta System Info. Launch Photoshop beta, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

Hi @jjgallegos have you checked for a GPU driver update? Are you using the Studio or Gaming NVIDIA drivers?

I have the Game driver, v. 537.13. As I mentioned before, the stable PS
24.7 works fine. It's only in the Beta version where it doesn't work.

In general the Gaming drivers are not supported and known to cause issues as documented throughout this forum. You should be using Studio drivers.

Thank you for your advice--I'll change to the studio driver.

Thank you, resetting Beta prefs helped me fix the same problem. Also, I needed to re-enter the scale (2) and offset (125) values in 'apply image'. Using Nvidia Studio 536.99. All working now.

A grateful thanks to everybody. I had forgotten to check the "scale" and "offset" values. I'm 73 years old, so a lot of CRS (can't remember sh*t) happens to me. I redid the values, and now everything is working fine. Thank you, again.
