Why the difference between generative fill with prompt VS using a seed photo?

I play around with a lot of my nature photos improving them with AI. When I use generative fill with a prompt for say flowers or foliage, I get more normal looking plants. Granted, it takes many prompts to get something usable.

When I try to use one of my own high rez photos for seeds to direct the AI to what I specifically want, it nearly always gives me some sort of mutation of the original photo. For instance, flowers will be extra large, too straight, or outright mutant flowers. This occurs even when I try to make the photo seed the exact rez of the spot I want replaced. I've tried everything size/perspective/distance, with the seed photos nature wise to get the AI to use it and not mutate the nature objects, but again, it very rarely works making the seed photo option unusable. Btw, this is true wether I use a prompt or not with the seed photo.

So the question is, how come standard GF prompts give typically more natural looking normal results, but my own seed photos pretty much never do that? Is this a bug or a known issue that is being worked on?

Thanks!
