I have been trying out the Photo Restoration filter, and Photoshop hangs hard. I have to kill the app. This happens using Photoshop v24.1.0 Release on Windows 11 on an Acer laptop.
Repro steps:
1) Open a scanned black and white photo (JPG).
2) Filters/Neutral Filters/Photo Restoration. Download the filter if not already downloaded.
3) Click the slider to enable the filter. Wait for processing to complete.
4) Change the zoom level on the photo (Ctrl+1 or Ctrl+0, etc.)
5) Click OK to accept the restoration changes. The photo will resize again when the filters panel goes away.
6) Click Home, then click to go back to the photo.
7) Click Ctrl+1 or Ctrl+0 again
NOTE: The PS window that displays the photo does not repaint correctly. There are artifacts left behind in the background of the current sized photo. Parts of the home screen are still visible. See Photoshop.jpg attached.
8) Save a copy of the photo.
9) close the photo
10) Click Open and select another scanned black and white photo
RESULT: The app is now hung. It does not respond to any clicks on menus, buttons, etc. No way to close the app without killing the app from the Task Manager.
