Free transform tool stops working after some time in a session

I have no idea how to reproduce this, except that sometimes after a short while of photoshop usage, the free transform tool just does not budge. The user interface appears whenever I activate the hotkey for it or if I select the function but I am unable to make any transformations at all. This is fixed by closing and opening Photoshop but that becomes frustrating for prolonged sessions/ work days.

Hi @andrewg51719078 how much free HD space do you have allocated in Preferences/Scratch disk?

That is not much available at all. What is happening is as you work in PS, your scratch disk is used up and PS freezes. Thats why quitting and restarting PS appears to fix - it frees that space up when you quit.

Clean out your local HD making more room for PS to work. I'd start with at least 200 GB.

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.
