Going back to the previous update of PS 24. How?

I updated to PS 24.6, and I have a persistent sticky cursor problem which renders this version unusable to me. No one seems to have an answer to this problem which happened only since that latest update. I'm now back to working with PS 23.5.5 and obviously don't have access to the newer PS tools. I'd settle for whatever precedes 24.6 until the next update.

So my question is: can I get back to the older version of PS 24, and how would I do it? And when I update PS, is there a way to save the old version in case something like this happens again?

And when I update PS, is there a way to save the old version in case something like this happens again?

By @Kay01AC

To answer this part of your question:

I turn off automatic application updates in the Creative Cloud app and update manually. When you do a manual update, there is is checkbox asking if you want to remove or keep the current version. (I don't remember the exact wording.) I alway choose to keep older versions.

Before you do any of this, back up actions, gradients, shapes, and everything else you have customized. Use the panel menus.

We are expecting Photoshop 2024 to be released on the first day of Adobe MAX on October 10.
