I have installed new versions of PS and INDD and immediatelly havce discovered there is something broken again.

I'm not able to send picture from Indesign to Photoshop with Edit Original menu (also shortcut Shift+E not working, altough it is assigned).

Then I rolled back Indesign to 19.5 presumed it's his fault and it is still not working, so I rolled back PS 25.12 also, and it s working again, so I guess Photoshop 26 can't handle pictures from Indesign.

Update well done again.

Hello @michaljanata , I'm sorry this is happening and I'd like to replicate and troubleshoot this problem.

On my end, I have a Windows 10, Intel, with In Design 20.0 and Photoshop 26.0.

  • I have a indd file with a placed psd,
  • I select the psd image and right click on it,
  • I can select "Edit Original" or "Edit with" and select Photoshop 2025 26.0

The image opens in Photoshop. I can make edits, save it and then it updates in the indd file.

In order to troubleshoot the problem, can you please provide the following information:

  1.  In Photoshop 26.0, go to Help > System Info. Copy the content in a text file and attach it here.
  2.  What is the type of file in the indd document.
  3.  How was the image placed in the indd document.

If it's possible to get a copy of the indd file, please email it to clrodrig@adobe.com

Thank you

What I'd look for first - can you check your file associations in Windows Settings? Is PS v 26 set as default application for this file extension?

But do provide the information Claudia is asking for.
