P: Anybody knows what "MantaCanvas" is?

There is a new PS-option Preferences -> Performance -> Advanced Settings -> Use updated GPU canvas. If you read the tooltip it says "...preference flag for MantaCanvas must also be on...."
I really can't find any information about that.
Does anybody know what that means?

Bug. Was a prerelease feature toggle that wasn’t turned off prior to release.

This should be fixed in the 21.1 update that went out last night.
