P: Command+H does not Hide Extras when dialog window is open

In the CS5 version of Photoshop, Apple+H doesn't always work to hide the paths around vector shapes when I open the layer styles dialogue.. I used to be able to open the layer styles dialogue (in CS4 and earlier), and if a vector path was visible around the current layer, I could hit Apply H and hide it. Now sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't..

Honestly, this is the kind of stuff that causes me to get so frustrated with Adobe. New versions of CS software, and tons of stuff that used to work fine now no longer works correctly! If I didn't have to update my creative suite to stay up to date w my clients, I probably wouldn't upgrade..I find the little things like this...and there are so many of them...far too frustrating for the kind of money it costs to buy the creative suite!!

Is this a bug? Does anyone else have the same problem?

I see this behavior and how it worked in previous versions of Photoshop. I'm sure this wasn't taken out on purpose, but is the result of the Cocoa port. I notice that this continues to work just fine on the Windows side of things.

I also notice that the Layer Styles may be a special case, because this keyboard shortcut works just fine when I have a Curves (or the other Adjustments) dialog open (even some filters work, like Gaussian Blur). I notice there are other dialogs that don't allow this shortcut to work (whether this version or previous versions of Photoshop), such as Save As. Are there other dialog windows where this shortcut worked in previous versions but no longer does?

I'll let our engineers know, but as far as I know, you are the first person to report this.
