P: Convert to Video Timeline option missing - Apple M1 devices

I am not able to select anything but "Create Frame Animation" in the Timeline. I am trying to create a Video Timeline, but not using Frame animation. This option isn't in the bottom left or top right of the Timeline menu.

I have tried resetting my preferences, uninstalling and re-installing, creating a new document, and converting all layers to smart objects, and none of those have worked. I have a macbook pro with macOS Big Sur version 11.2.3 with an Apple M1 chip.

Thank you for the help!

Can I ask how you figured this out? I'm having the same issue and can't seem to figure out how to see 'run in Rosetta'...

Adobe gave me a solution and I could fix it! This is for Macbook Pro with M1 chip.

Go to Applications>Photoshop Folder>Photoshop.
Right click on Photoshop and click on Get Info.
There you will see Run with Rossetta Option, enable it.
Relaunch Photoshop and check if it works.

If you still have trouble, you can click on Photoshop icon inside Photoshop then preferences and performance. You will be able to see Graphic processor in there. Unchecking and checking can help you with the performance of Photoshop.

  • Mon ancienne configuration : Mac OS BIG SUR version 11.6
  • Ma nouvelle configuration : Mac OS BIG SUR version 11.6
  • Version Photoshop : version 22.5.1

Video functions are not avialable on M1-based Macs yet due to underlying issues with adapting the code to the new platform.

Still not fixed?? It has been a year.

Reverting to old software is a horrible UX and not a solution.

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-for-apple-silicon.html Video has not been updated to run natively on M1 devices. You can run Photoshop in Rosetta to use video on an M1 Mac.
