I have updated CC 2015, both Lightroom and Photoshop. I can open Photoshop and can open a photo. Every time I close out a photo, Photoshop crashes with the message, Adobe Photoshop CC has stopped working. It will now close.

I can't use the new update;

This issue should be corrected in the Photoshop CC 2015.0.1 update which was released today. Details here: http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/201...

My Photoshop CC 2015 doesn't work correct. When I close a saved file, the program shuts down and when I start up again, the program reloads all the other opened files again????

I tried the suggested answer and it keeps crashing... its really unpleasant not to be able to use the software without having a lot of files opening up on startup

Yes, you need to follow the directions exactly: disable the GPU, quit Photoshop, then relaunch Photoshop (so the GPU stays off).

Hi,

Make sure that Photoshop is closed.

1- go to this location C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2015\AutoRecover

You will be able to see all the .PSD file which re getting opened automatically when Photoshop is opened, delete or move all the files from that folder.

2- Restart the Photoshop and go to edit>preferences> performance Un check the use gpu processor and restart the Photoshop.

It should be be working fine now.

Succes and thanks

I'm now getting this each time I either close Photoshop, Save for Web, or close a recovering PSD.

Completely unacceptable. It's been over a month now.

Why don't they stop taking my monthly payment until I can use it properly. Smacks of double standards.

I'm having the same issue and disabled the graphic processor, which appears to have fixed the initial problem. Thank you for a simple but temporary fix. Following this topic watching for a permanent resolution.

But it doesn't let you quit Photoshop without going through this save the photo dialogue. It doesn't close cleanly. It crashes.

My Photoshop was running fine until I upgraded to the 2015 version. Now, when I try to save or exit from a file, I get a "photoshop has stopped working " and it closes the program or freezes. I have to keep restarting and have a whole group of unsaved files that come up because i cant save or exit from them. I am running Windows. I have already disabled the graphics processor but it didnt help.

Try to "save as..." the files recovered, then, the next time that you relaunch Ps, it don't recover any files. Then you will can disable the GPU and quit photoshop clearly. It runs!

I am a bit thick so bear with me but just how does this "shift control alt" thingy work?

I click to open photoshop CC and instantly hit shift control and alt....but nothing happens it just irritatingly loads up and gives me the welcome screen and lets get started option......I would if I could but it crashes and locks up after every save of a photo telling me to disable things in the preference screen......which I cant get to.

Thankfully this a is Canon provided subscription and is "free"...if I was paying I would be very upset

Update

hey I'm a Geek now......you don't need all this control shift malarkey.....simply go to edit...preferences...performance from the Photoshop screen when its open....and deselect as suggested.....why do people make things complicated?

How long till there is a solution. Once you get used to using the graphics processor, it is a pain in the rear to go back.

CC has the potential to bring us down big time by releasing software that doesnt work. Photoshop 2015 CC crashes everytime I try to start it. I've seen recommendations to disable "use video processor" but I can't get in to do that. Furthermore, this is a critical application to a large business, we can't afford to go down for days trying to fix an application.
