See https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/photoshop-cc-18-to-crashes-using-nik-filters for a workaround. Also, DXO has purchased Nik and is updating the plug-ins to work on modern systems

You may need to reach out to the publishers of Nik software and verify if their software is compatible with High Sierra.  A lot changed under the hood with this release of macOS.

Problem solved in a hard way. Total format and back to Seirre. It was the only way because Nik is still 32 bit and the new High Sierra is only exepting 64 bit.

Hi Rick,

Concerning crashes and the Nik Collection, here is a trouble shooting guide:

Let me know if their suggestions help you.

Regards,
Hannah

Are you still having trouble with this? The feedback I have been getting on that trouble shooting guide hasn't been overly positive. Another user suggested the following workaround:

"My experience is that if I apply the crop tool first and then NIK filters with a smart filter PS does not crash.  Applying NIK first to a smart object and then cropping always crashes."
