Updated to Photoshop CC 20150529.r.88 x64 today. Crashes almost everytime I zoom. This is incredibly frustrating. The version I used before the update (some last year's version) didn't do this on the same file.
We may have a temporary workaround for this. Trying going to Edit >
Preferences > Performance and uncheck "Use Graphics Processor". Quit
and restart PS. Do the crashes stop occurring?
Tried this. The crashes remain. Perhaps one of the conditions is that I have the Ruler tool on when zooming in and out. With Ruler on and zooming, PS crashes steadily both with "Use Graphics Processor" on or off.
Also, with graphics processor off I got weird undo behavior: first undo (ctrl+z) works, the effect of the next undo (ctrl+alt+z) becomes visible only after I click the screen.
And at some point of working without graphics processor, all elements on the screen became transparent https://www.dropbox.com/s/419f6okt8vd....
Yes. With or without rulers visible, if I zoom with the Ruler tool (R) selected, PS crashes. Zooming when Move (V) or Marquee (M) tools are on doesn't make PS crash.
Yes, this definitely seems to be related to Ruler visibility and GPU. With the Rulers on, I get extremely choppy GPU-zooming and the eventual crash when zooming in tightly. With rulers off, GPU-zooming is fast and fluid and I have yet to experience any crashes.
Photoshop crashes every time when I attempt to zoom in further than the maximum. This happens on large photoshop files with many layers (100+) but doesn't happen on empty or lesser files.
I can get it to crash every time (2014 never crashed). Zoom in with mousewheel, use line tool, zoom out with mousewheel, crash. Every time. Rulers and pixel grid are off.
If I turn off GPU acceleration, then it doesn't crash, but at the same point where it would have crashed, it freezes momentarily and shows the outline of the line I just drew repeated horizontal many times for the width of the screen.
EDIT: There are lots of graphical glitches generally when GPU acceleration is turned off. Marching-ant selections randomly appear or stay visible after deselecting, changes to the image are delayed until I move the mouse over that section of the image, etc. GPU is a GTX 670 with 352.86. Crashes occur with the GPU on "Basic" and all checkboxes unchecked (or checked, doesn't seem to matter).
I have the same thing when I used photoshop and zoom in more than 100%.
I use photoshop CC on os x Yosemite.
Few stats about version:
Adobe Photoshop Version: 2015.0.0 20150529.r.88 2015/05/29:23:59:59 CL 1024429 x64
Operating System: Mac OS 10.10.3
How can it be the same when this topic is about Windows?
And if you have a crash on MacOS, we need to see the full crash report (in another topic, of course).
Hi Mr. Sr. Computer Scientist,
Is it that you are always rude? I am the one who should be annoyed with your buggy update. And I did not notice your "WIN" for "Windows" next to the title. I was searching for fixes and the google search led me to this page. I shall report the error to customer support. Hope you help the windows guy get his fixed. And maybe consider using better words. Thanks...
Photoshop CC2015
Windows 7
Document only has 2 layers and a path
Crashes at 753% zoom every single time.
Was able to zoom further in a similar document with a few layers and a path without crashing.
Crash occurs with pixel grid on or off, and GPU processing on or off.

Mine also crashed on with rulers off. But Slices were on. I was Zooming in to check my slices down to the pixel level. And then crashes. Tried it again with GPU and all tools off. got down to Full Zoom was able to move around and then... turned on just slices. They didn't show but once i tried to zoom out boom it happens again.

We're trying to find a solution to this problem but haven't yet been able to reproduce the problem in-house.
Can those who are seeing this crash please provide the following information so we can narrow this down:
1. What OS are you using? (Windows 7, 8, or ?)
2. What video card/GPU you have in your system? (you can find that info in PS Help > System Info)
3. Are you using dual displays?
4. Does the crash only occur when using the scroll wheel to zoom, or with any zoom?
5. Does you have slices in your image?
Still having it issue. This time i was able to get the Crash by Quick moving around the screen with Space Bar mouse drag.
1. OS - Windows 7 PRO SP1
1.5 Chipset - Dell XPS - i7-3770 @ 3.4GHZ and 16GB ram
2 glgpu[0].GLMemoryMB=2048, glgpu[0].GLName="AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series", glgpu[0].GLDriverVersion="14.501.1003.0"
3 yes - Dell U2711 @ 2560x1440 & Dell P190S @ 1280x1024
4 Seams like it. Scroll Zoom is set and Use Graphics Processor is turn on. But this time it crashed on a drag of the screen at Full zoom. Only seams to crash at Full Zoom.
5. Yes.
File was originally created on Mac CS5, 95MB, ~100 layers, & with Font Substitution Warnings.

1. Windows 8.1 64-bit
2. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770
3. Single Display
4. I use a Wacom Intuos 3 and zoom mostly holding down the Space and Alt-key. In Pen-mode it mostly crashes
5. I don't use slices.
1. Windows 8.1
2. Nvidia GeForce GTX660
3. One display
4. Yes, crash when on selective tool (v) and using alt + mouse wheel zoom. Even with empty artboards, But it crash only when two or more artboards on document and zooming to any other artboard, but first.
5. Empty document or with content.

4. Crashes only on scroll wheel zoom, at ~400% zoom and higher, with pixel grid on. My usual scenario is to zoom in quickly with the scroll wheel, measure something with the ruler tool, roll back to 100% with Ctrl+1. After several of these, a crash occurs.
5. No slices
Specifically reproduced when I have a shape layer, then try to move an anchor point after zooming (scroll wheel, doing cmd +/-, or using cmd Spacebar and dragging the zoom area)
Have slices, but deleted them, quite PS, then saved and reopened the doc. Same problematic behavior.
No crash report, just windows alert box. Entire info dialog pasted below. If there are any log files to send, just need to know where they are located.
