Each time I save on a network drive driven by Mac OS X 10.7.5 (I know, pretty old) connected via afp, Photoshop creates this empty and unneccessary folder. Is there any solution?
I am positive. When I open "About Photoshop" it says 21.0.2 and I quit out and opened it directly from the creative cloud download page and it still happened.

Also the folder doesn't pop up, it is just created every time photoshop is opened. If I delete the folder, but photoshop is still open on my computer, another folder will take its spot. If I quit out of photoshop then delete the folder, the folder will remain gone until I open the application again and another folder is created.
I looked back through all of Michelle's posts, and it sounds like she is talking about a completely different issue. She says, "It keeps putting an empty folder into my Documents which really messes up my entire flow. Its due to the new Photoshop Cloud, which I don't use, so its basically just an empty set of folders that continue to reappear after deletion. "
It sounds like she is talking about an "Adobe" folder only being created in her Documents folder. And from what she is saying, I don't think the folder is called "Photoshop."
I believe it's normal for Creative Cloud to put a folder called "Adobe" into the user Documents folder Michelle, what issue does it cause you to have that "Adobe" folder sit there? If you just ignore it, how is it still messing up your workflow?
Also Michelle, if you read the title of this issue and the other comments made, which describe multiple folders called "Photoshop" being created all over when saving over existing documents on AFP servers -- You can see that this single "Adobe" folder in just the Documents folder is not the issue we have all been discussing. So I would say this "Adobe" folder is not a bug and won't go away. We all have an "Adobe" folder in our user Documents folder. So hopefully are able to ignore it. 🙂
Hi John, I don't think this is "normal" for a unused and empty folder to be added to my computer by Adobe's program. We have had photoshop for 20 years and this has only become a problem with the Photoshop 21 update. I find that it interrupts my work flow as I work directly from the documents folder in my computer. I have a few folders in Documents that organize my entire computer. The Adbe/photoshop folder (there is folder inside the folder) is added to my list. My streamlined organization is interrupted by an empty folder that I shouldn't have to ignore, as it shouldn't be there in the first place. When I try to move it, it just creates another folder in its place.
I just want this issue fixed, or perhaps an option in preferences to turn off the automatic folder.
I have looked more into my issue and after searching I found many blogs, forums, and articles written about an annoying "Adobe" folder being forcibly placed into the Documents folder. One dating back 8 years! Apparently this issue and annoyance hasn't been fixed in that time and is triggered by updating applications. It moved, essentially Adobe's application's junk folder, from the designated spot in the computer files to the Documents folder.
Here is a link to that post from 8 years ago, where Jeffrey you had commented that you would ask engineers to look into the issue. I would love to know what the engineers have figured out from this past case to hopefully solve my problem and many others! I know this isn't something that I or others could just ignore.
I'm glad you found the correct forum at the link you provided where you can add your comments and follow with others who are having the same issue with the "Adobe" folder. And glad to know you are not affected by the "Photoshop" folder issue that this thread is dedicated to.
