P: Export As dialog exporting images with hidden clipping layers

I encountered this bug while exporting some project files with the Export As dialog. It's seems so easy to encounter, I don't know how I avoided it for so long.

If I have a new Photoshop document and have anything on layer 1, and layer 3 clipped to layer 2 and layer 2 is hidden, then when trying to use Export As, layer 3 is fully visible.

What the output looks like.

Is anyone else able to recreate this issue? It's kind of annoying.

Great to hear the current version of Export As works correctly. There are not any plans to update the legacy Export As.

@Wabber_HM Can you confirm that this is working correctly in the current version 23.1?

Make sure "Use legacy Export As" is unchecked.

After deciphering my puzzle from 7 months ago, I can confirm this issue is still present in the legacy "Export As" dialog in version 23.1. It doesn't happen in the new "Export As" dialog, though.

Here's what it looks like on my end. The export preview and the layers in the document with the circle selected.export-after.pnglayout-before.png

See on the layer stack there is HSL adjustment layer clipped to a currently hidden layer. The editor view is correct (pink rectangle). In export view however the adjustment layer is enabled and applied to the whole layer stack, hence the resulting green colored rectangle.

Im pretty sure this is not intended behaviour. Can be worked around by disabling the adjustment layer directly (but it unclips first which is annoying).

Latest Photoshop 23 on latest windows 10, ryzen 3600 and geforce 1050 with latest studio drivers.

Sounds like you are using Legacy Export As. Go to Preferences > Export... and uncheck "Use legacy 'Export As'"
