Hello,

using the tool Free Transform (Ctrl+T) in the new version of Photoshop CC 2019 (release 20.0.0) on a Windows 10 64 bit PC, I'm not able anymore to move the handle of a selected area (using the Ctrl button) in a free mode, now I can move it along the vertical or horizontal ax only.

RackMultipart2018102644527wi8v-4f1a52ef-890b-45ba-b78e-1d19f8d8f3e5-1154045790.jpgRackMultipart2018102644527wi8v-4f1a52ef-890b-45ba-b78e-1d19f8d8f3e5-1154045790.jpg

Which setting I have to change in order to have the same behavior of the tool as in Photoshop CC 2018 (release 19)?

Many thanks!!!

"addicted users"

oh boi . . .

Speaking of the "Maintain aspect ratio" button, it would help alleviate this issue if it didn't LIE to us now.
RackMultipart20181030563621qn2-25701603-c25b-42c9-ac77-3e228d6139cf-1260867149.PNG
Whether or not I've toggled it, and I'm dragging any of the 8 transform control points, PS just does whatever the $&$^%$ it wants.
It no longer honors that button for mouse input.
It DOES honor the "Maintain aspect ratio" button if entering values in the textboxes, however.

Considering this, it starts to feel more like a bug.

There IS a global toggle for making the transform reference point visible, during transform, in the toolbar (linked to the one in preferences), so sure - Why not one more for this?

Okey I thought that is a quote as you repeated it in other post 😉 Probably that is not moderator, maybe if you pasted that to notepad, copied from that to here it could be displayed...

Jaro may be correct. Using color emojis might cause a bug in this forum.
That, or Chris Cox is trying to make me go (more) insane.

What do you mean, Kukurykus? Are you referring to something I said in another thread somewhere? If so - not quite sure.

For years I have been able to draw a rectangle, convert it to a smart object, then use Transform Distort and drag the corners smoothly to the precise place I need them. After updating to the 2019 Photoshop, I go through the same process of creating a smart object from a rectangle, but when I try to use Transform Distort and move the corners, they jump around like they are snapping to something and I can never get them even close to the place I need them—even though snapping is turned off.

However, the Transform Distort works smoothly as expected to the rectangle BEFORE I convert it to a smart object. But AFTER it is a smart object, it doesn't work correctly.

I have the same bug (along with many others). I finally had to return to cc2018. The update is just not worth the headache and added time it takes to get a project completed

The Place command seems to have similar issues. I'm still trying to get used to it.

Solution: Holding shift down works with distorting smart objects as it did in the 2018 version. Thank you for the tip!
