P: Freezes after adding 4-5 sky images in a new group

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this as well. After adding 4-5 sky images in a new group, PS freezes on the next addition. Had to force quit it. All the sky images were in a TIF format exported from LR.

This is on a new iMac running Catalina.

Is this 100% repeatable? Would it be possible to get a screen recording of your steps? (QuickTime has a File > New Screen Recording feature).

Also, a sample process while the OS is beach balling might help: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/how-to-get-a-process-sample-or-spindump.html

You can use CC files to share both a screen recording and sample.

Yes, it seems to be. Just did the same again while I recorded the video in ScreenFlow. I was using a pack I had shared some time ago for friends.

These are the skies https://drive.google.com/file/d/17IbOM6oM3mayhYv3qYjKJIa0eaesiMiQ/view?usp=sharing

This is the video on YouTube

The video is still processing for HD...

TIA.

Thanks! Let me see if I can make this happen and get it over to the Sky Replacement engineer.

Would be nice if we could add all the selected images instead of going one by one 🙂

I'm seeing it spin out for a long time after adding about 6-7 of your skies. It eventually recovers after a few minutes. Are you seeing that if you wait a few minutes it recovers? Or are you having to force quit after several minutes? (Might be a good test to let it sit for 5-10 minutes to see if it recovers or crashes out - might give us more clues). I'm going to send off what I have and see if the engineers can profile it. Thanks!

Yeah. Please put that in a separate topic as a feature request so other customers can vote on it and I'll pass along to the engineers. I saw other requests for this on Twitter, etc.

I tried again without going from LR with a different image, but, same set of skies and managed to get slightly further. Seems PS has some issues with that particular background image and another one as you can see in this video. I think PS is trying to analyse the added sky images.

Interestingly, it was not totally stuck in this instance...I have no issues with this set in Luminar 4 in case that helps. I was just making the same pack for PS when I ran into these issues...

HD video is still processing...
