P: How do I see just the Brush Tip Preview?

The brush preview in PS 2018 has changed so now it shows a dragged preview of the brush. I have many a custom brush that are meant to be singularly clicked, not dragged, like stencils. I cannot see which brushes are which anymore, because of this new preview and cannot find a way to change it back.

PLEASE FIX THIS WITH AN UPDATE ADOBE, IT WAS FINE THE WAY IT WAS.RackMultipart2017110578050h8s7-15122f4a-4544-4c94-be4a-7a271d166aa1-1932007870.pngRackMultipart2017110578050h8s7-15122f4a-4544-4c94-be4a-7a271d166aa1-1932007870.png
As you can see, there is NO WAY for me to tell which brush I am using.

The only work around is to go into the detailed brush settings but this is hassle for me when I need to quickly choose a brush. RackMultipart2017110583379zy2p-13e10015-483e-4c12-bba7-a978c1ba0cce-2053609219.pngRackMultipart2017110583379zy2p-13e10015-483e-4c12-bba7-a978c1ba0cce-2053609219.png

I hate this new view of the brushes - the icons are so small you can't tell what you're looking at. I too have brushes, such as floral brushes, that are meant to be singularly clicked and not dragged. Is there a way to revert back to the old way of viewing?

Hi Billy,

Thanks for the feedback. What you're saying makes sense, but I need to get some more information and get back with you.

Regards,
Hannah

I'm not interested in brush tips or stroke, but I do want to see my brush previews as with earlier versions of PS.  How can I make  that happen?

I've made the changes to view the brushes as suggested. However, the brush preview is still pretty damn small even though I use the slider to make the preview larger.. I have 27 inch Mac and they're still hard to see. Is there any way to make the preview larger as it was before. I really dislike the way brushes are displayed now. It sucks big time.....worse than big time.

Please, any suggestions would help.

You can change the icon size by using the slider at the bottom of the dialog box. The best part about this update is you can create your own folders.

Despite using the slider, the preview is still rather small, smaller than it used to be. I have a 27 inch iMac, and it's still smaller than it should be. Haven't been able to figure out how to make it larger than it is. (I have used the slider, it doesn't help much!)

Hi Ed,

You're in the brushes panel and the preview size slider is dragged to the largest size, correct? I went on a 27" iMac to try and replicate what you're seeing but the brush previews seemed large. Would you mind attaching a screenshot so I can be sure we're both looking at the same thing?

Thanks,
Hannah

Hi Hannah,

Thank you so much wanting to help me. If I may, in previous versions of PS, and on my older 21" iMac, the brush preview seemed (were) larger. I could preview the brushes to see what they looked like fairly easily. As I mentioned in my post, they (the preview) aren't as easy to preview. I've added an arrow to where slider sits currently. Maybe I'm missing something altogether. Thank you for your help.RackMultipart201712188017010wn-3727e1e5-ab24-4633-adb8-5ab6540e60b5-2059034345.jpg

Select only brush tip - deselect stroke and name - this should make your brush preview bigger

Thank you Dale for the tip (no pun intended). I took your suggestion and the brush size is still the same. Nothing changed.

Hi Dale.... I'm wondering if I'm totally missing something. I've been all over the preferences and can't seem to find what I'm missing. But, I'm sure it's a simple fix, but as I said, I can't seem to figure it out.

are looking under the brush panel options - that's where you choose what you want to view. Other than that, I'm not sure
