P: How to unlock / Lock All including Child Layers

Currently you have to manually select each layer one by one to lock and unlock, which is a pain. If you want to move a group and have a locked layer buried in the group you have to go down and find it and unlock it you want to move a group.

Sucks.

There should be a unlock all / lock all for selected layers and groups with an option to include child layers.

Try using the Lock All Layers in Group from the layers panel flyout menu or from Layer>Lock All Layers in Group. For example if you have one or more layers locked in the group, don't click any boxes in the dialog, just click ok and that should unlock the layers in the group. This also works for selected layers (more than one layer selected), but then the menu item will change to Lock Layers.

You can already select multiple layers to lock and unlock.
And locking a group does lock all layers inside the group.

In CC 2014, sometimes it locks every layer inside a group, other times it does not. e.g: Case 1 - Lock the group, and then unlock the group, all layers inside unlocked. Case 2 - Lock the group and then unlock the group, all layers inside independently locked.

You can use this dialog with this settings on parrent folder. (works only for layers inside, not folders).
Top menu > Layer > Lock all layers in group

You can use my script in link above and set him shortcut.

I would like to correct my answer.

This feature is messed up because it can't work with groups. So it's not corectly implemented.

Combo: Ctrl + G, Ctrl + G, Ctrl + Shift + G, click on full-lock, click on full-lock again, Ctrl + Shift + G
works much bulletproof if you didn't exhaust groups nesting levels. (you must click on lock, slash key works only for single layer)

To summarize, there is a command Layers > Unlock All Layers in Group which will work for the simple case of a group with child layers. This doesn't work for locked groups (and their children if they have inherited locks from their parent group). I've logged a request to have the command work on child groups as well as layers.

This combo can't be recorded as action in current PS version because "click on lock" records dialog for locking nested layers in group which is messed up. It can't record normal layers un/locking.
(this issue is already somewhere in forum)

This issue should be fixed in the latest release of Photoshop.

To summarize, there was a command Layers > Unlock All Layers in Group which will worked for the simple case of a group with child layers matching its locked state. This didn't work for locked groups (and their children if they have inherited locks from their parent group). We've fixed this so Lock All Layers in Group/Unlock All Layers in Group will work more consistently - no matter if the state is mixed (group contains locked and unlocked layers or inherited thier locked state from the parent group).

Use the following shortcuts to lock and unlock layers in Photoshop CC 2014.

• Command + / (Mac) | Control + / (Win) toggles between locking and unlocking all selected layers. (Clicking on the lock icon will also unlock a layer).

• Command + Option +/ (Mac) | Control + Alt +  / (Win) unlocks all layers (except the Background layer).

• In addition, there is a new menu item Layer> Lock Layers.

Specific to locking Shape layers:

• If a shape layer is locked, it now behaves properly and cannot be selected (in previous versions it could).

• When a Shape layer is locked, the Shape Properties in the Properties panel will be disabled.

The link is broken as it referes to a blog in 2017 (i.e. 5 years ago) but the fix it refers to is still in place

Just use Layers > Lock all Layers in Group which will lock (or unlock) layers depending on the settings in the dialogue that opens. It works on groups and nested groups
