P: Liquify on smart objects broken in latest version

new document - paint something - convert to smart object - liquify - disable smart filter - re enable smart filter (doesn't re enable)

Also breaks when you double click to edit the smart object and save.

Hmm. That seems to work for me. It doesn't render when you try and enable? Might need a screen recording, and possibly system info (Help >System Info...)

Yes that's exactly right. 

So I just checked on my home machine and it functions correctly. Both windows 10 PCs. Main difference is home had AMD graphics and work is Nvidia (GTX 970). I just upgraded to latest drivers (460.89) still not working.

So i tried disabling 'use graphics processor' and that has now fixed the problem but not ideal of course.

On this machine, if you restore your preferences using this manual method does it work correctly?

I have same problem. Also editing or updating smart layer resets liquify.

Removing settings fixed the problem for me. Not sure which setting causes it to misbehave, but I've moved back:

Keyboard Shortcuts Primary.psp; Keyboard Shortcuts.psp; Workspace Prefs.psp; Menu Customization.psp

Just move this folder elsewhere and test if it fixes liquefy behavior:

Resetting the preferences seemed to do the trick for the most part. The test file that I was using after I had first noticed the issue now functions almost completely as expected. The Liquify distortions on the Smart Objects are retained even with layer visibility changes. The only glitch that I am still encountering is if I manually disable the Liquify filter under the Smart Object, then try to re-enable it. In that case, the mesh is reset and the distortion is gone. But still, this is MUCH improved over what I was experiencing before whenever ANY change to the layer or even other layers was messing up and resetting the mesh distortion.

Also, the glitch seems to only be persistent with the test file from back whenever I first noticed this issue. If I create a brand new document, then everything functions as expected, even when disabling and re-enabling the Liquify effect on the Smart Object. So, the issue is now probably some remnant that's left over from original file.
