Still an issue, being on an enterprise account I don't have access to the "previous versions" option in the CC app. I spoke with tech support who told me they would emial me link to install 24.0....while waiting for that to happen the line was transfered back to the opening automated system. No link was ever sent. Does anyone have an idea of when this bug will be addressed? I was planning on inculding it this semster for an Adv. PS class. Now I have to explain to my students that Adobe is falling apart.

Hai perfettamente ragione! Avevano detto che subito dopo le feste avrebbero inviato un aggiornamento 24.2 eliminando i bug. Quelli già riscontrati da tutti: Elimina e riempi e Materiali, entrambi spariti con l'aggiornamento 24.1

They said that where? Adobe never announce fix dates in advance, they are too subject to testing picking up issues.

I did see an update in the CC app for PS, however after installing the materials bug has not been resolved…also, after installing I checked the build number and it is 24.1.0, will there be a second 24.1.1 build released later today?

The fix for the materials panel is rolling out with v 24.1.1. Not everyone has that yet as it is being rolled gradually over a day or so. I don't work for Adobe but I assume that is to avoid overloading the servers.

The version with the fix, which is working here, is 24.1.1 20230112.r.238 (you can check in Help >System info to see which version you have at present)

@Jody5F91 If you are seeing 24.1,0 then you have the previous version not the version currently being rolled out which is v24.1.1.  You are not alone.  Adobe staff confirmed it is being rolled out on a phased basis over a day or two. Keep checking the CC app for it to appear in updates - if you don't see it in a day or so try closing the app, re-opening then click 'Check for Updates'

Yes it is working again for me too. I was just wondering however is the panel supose to work with the 3D Material Drop tool? When I select the tool the Loaded Material is Default and the Load Selected and Drop down link in the Options panel remain disabled. I only ask because with other tools like gradients or custom shapes you can access the shape or gradient from the Tool's options menu or panel. So in this case I would think it would be the same for Materials?

@HUnknown1  No, 3D is deprecated and being removed from Photoshop.

The Materials panel is separate to 3D functions and was introduced to enable the use of sbsar materials in a 2D composite in a similar way to using other patterns.

Thanks Dave that's what I figured. As a thought maybe the tool  in future could be just called "Material Drop tool" with the 3D removed. And then could be used in a simlar way to the paint bucket tool but just for materials to fill in a selection and create a smart filter or layer mask on  the layer.
