Merge to HDR Pro fails on large images with no error reported. it appears to work up until the preview exposure is set. A good preview of the final output is shown. After completing the merge the output is just solid black.

A ~21,000 x 5000 pixel image with 4 images in the stack failed. When I reduced the size to 25% it worked.

This should be fixed in the Photoshop CC (2015) update.

This feature was working fine for me until I received the most recent update (2015.0.1 20150722.r.168 2015/07/22:23:59:59 CL 1032107 x64). Now it's broken exactly how dbur described -- except I have not tried to downsize my DNG files to see if that resolves the issue.

Use Lightroom instead. It works where photoshop fails, and gives more consistent results for HDR panoramas.

This is still happening in the new 2017 update. Why?
