P: Moving Around Workspace causing screen glitching & green background on macOS

So I just downloaded the new 2023 version of Photoshop. Photoshop told me that if I did not have the latest version of MacOS there could be some performance issues, so I made sure everything was up to date and downloaded the latest MacOS. However, now whenever I move around my workspace in Photoshop my screen glitches and I get weird green flashes that make it next to impossible to work.

Zooming in and out using the trackpad/mouse causes this, as well as just moving left, right, up, and down. I purged my cache and still the same issue. Restarted Photshop and my computer, still the same issue.

Someone please help as I have a lot of work to do!

You are not alone. I rely on photoshop for business and this has severely impacted my workflow. I am currently in the processs of reverting to the last version of PS to see if this helps. Ugh.

Same problem here. Before and after updating to Ventura 13. Happened after updating to PS 24.

Okay,  I took my computer to BestBuy Geek Squad and the tech took a look at it.  He did ONE thing and so far, the issues I was having seem to be gone (I won't celebrate until I do more in the program).

What he did was: went to Preferences, then to Technology Previews, and  clicked on DEACTIVATE NATIVE CANVAS.

As I said, it seems to have done the trick.  IF the problem comes back, I will update my post.

Shouldn't be a question of reverting in any complicated way. Don't let Creative Cloud delete old versions, and it will just be there. Always expect issues, always keep two versions at least.

I'm still using Macs with older operating systems (Big Sur and Monterey) and when Photoshop 2023 updated I started having issues. I'm guessing it's mainly an Adobe issue and not just with the latest Mac OS. I switched back to PS 2022 and havent' had any more issues.

I agree.  This is an Adobe issue that needs to be fixed by Adobe.

For people that having this issue on macOS, we'd like more information:

Restore your preferences using this manual method:
https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#Manually
Does it work correctly?
If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back.
If it does solve the problem, I would like to get the folder of settings to try and figure out what is bad with them.

If restoring preferences using the above method didn't work, does going to Preference > Technology Previews, and clicked on "Deactivate Native Canvas" - then restart Photoshop. Does it work correctly?

If "Deactivate Native Canvas" helped or neither option helped, it may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

I have Photoshop 2023 (24.0.0) on a 2012 iMac running Monterey 12.06.1. So have far I haven't had any problems. But since yesterday I haven't been able to work in Photoshop anymore. When I open a file, the screen starts flickering green again and again and I can't use the tools properly.

Can somebody please help? Thank you.

I think you have to try change some two things.

1. Go to Preference - Technologhy Previews - Turn on "Older GPU mode(2016)"

2. Go to Preference - Technologhy Previews - Turn on "Deactive Native Canvas"
And Restrart Photoshop, nothing change? or solve?..
