Hi Team, when importing a layered PSD into InDesign (all software versions have been updated) the adjustment layers are not rendering correctly. Specifically, using a Black and White adjustment layer with a Gradient Map above. The preview shows the masked area as mono, yet when a composite layer is placed at the top of the stack it renders correctly in InDesign. Any ideas?

Cheers,

Mark

Can you share your PSD file that's not rendering correctly?

Hi Jeffery, unfortunatley the current files (and there are many) are all for a cliens xmas campaign and under a non-disclosure agreement. I will however try and replicate it in a file I can share, I'll get on to it as soon as I've cleared the decks! Many thanks for your reply.

Hi Jeffery,

Many thanks for you help in trying to solve this. Ive uploaed a PSDC file here: https://assets.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:AP:7e4fbb0f-742a-4cef-a0dd-208f97755e19?view=difile

When this file is imported into InDesign it is previewed in mono.

CC FOLDER:
It appears to be an issue with the Black and White Adjustment layer stack with the Gradient map above.

If the ‘Composite’ layer is turned on it previews correctly in InDesign.

If the Black and white Adjustment layer is turned off it previews in colour InDesign.

Hi Jeffrey, Just following up to see if what I'd shared made sense and if you've identified the problem?

I have an inquiry into the eng team. I'm seeing the same results in Photoshop 23.0.1 and InDesign 17.0. I'll send you a private message.
