P: Photoshop 23.3 opens images with everything in white color.

Hey!

Just updated my Photoshop to 23.3 version. And when I'm trying to open any RGB file - it opens with all layers colored in white color. Seems like RGB is not active at all.

IF I transfer it into CMYK - all good.

Windows 10 Home.

Below is the print screen of RGB file turned into CMYK. Cuz I was unable even to make a printscreen in RGB.

Danke für die Antwort. Der Lösungsvorschlag hilft aber nur unvollständig. Damit werden die Dateien zwar wieder angezeigt, sind aber stark verpixelt. Auch die exportierten Bilder sind mangelhaft.

Hi,

Photoshop updated today and when I try to edit, add text, add a layer or do anything to the initial image, the image goes white on the display.

Instead of seeing text over my image, I see nothing but a white screen. If I make the text layer invisible I still see a white screen.

The layers are there and when I export it, it exports as a low res. jpg with the text and layers showing but very low quality. What is going on here?

Hello,

I have a bug when I open an image in Photoshop 2022, the first action I do such as duplicate the layer or create a new layer, the image turns white. I tried on several photos, several image formats, uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop, restarted the computer and the application several times but nothing worked. Do you have a solution please?

Layer duplication fails with teh latest version of Photoshop

Version : 23.3

Steps to bug:

1. open a jpg image (any),

2. duplicate layer,

3. the newly created layer is displayed empty (filled with bkgd color I suppose) instead of displaying the exact content of the bkgd layer.

I reinstalled the previuos version.

Hola

Abres una imagen RGB, duplicas la capa de fondo y desaparece toda la imagen y se queda el lienzo en blanco. La imagen está, porque permite hacer selecciones, pero no se ve nada, solo blanco. He probado con 10 imágenes diferentes y en distintos formatos y pasa lo mimso con todas. Como resultado de esto, es imposible trabajar con el programa. Si cambias el modo de color a CMYK el problema desaparece, pero si vuelves a convertir la imagen a RGB, se vulve a poner todo en blanco.

Por favor, miren esto en cuento puedan porque tengo trabajo importante que n puedo hacer.

Hi,

Sorry you're running into this issue. In 23.3 we introduced GPU compositing, which might be the cause of your issue. Can you try disabling GPU compositing in the performance preferences and see if the issue goes away? The checkbox is disable is at Preferences > Performance > Advanced Settings > GPU compositing. To disable, you just need to uncheck the box and hit OK on both windows. There's no need for a restart.

If you are seeing this issue, can you please share your system info (Help > System Info)? We'd like to know what configuration you're using. Thanks.

The issue appears to be related to your configuration, as I have two Windows 10 systems and can't reproduce the problem. Can you do me a favor and share the GPU info from System Info? I'm curious about video card, driver date, and number of monitors.

Also you can try disabling GPU Compositing.

Preferences > Performance > Advanced Settings (Graphics Processor Settings) > uncheck GPU Compositing, quit and restart. Does that help?

It started after the latest update, correct?

We'd greatly appreciate if you can send over System Info (Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply). Please also see if updating your drivers solves the issue. If it does, let us know. This helps developers diagnose the cause and potentially solve the problem for other customers.

In the long term, you'll want to have GPU compositing on for performance reasons. It is a brand new feature and bugs on some devices or drivers are not surprising, so anything that helps solve these odd cases will ultimately benefit everyone.
