P: Photoshop 23.3 resizes windows constantly

1: V.23.3
2: Microsoft 10
3:
Open multiple files. (4+ files)
Window -> Arrange -> 4-UP
a: Open new file into windowspace of active window.
b: Change active window between the 4-up windows.

4: Expected result-
If docked, the windowsize remain constant, unless user actively resize the window.
When shifting between active windows/workfiles, the windowsize remain constant unless user actively resize the window. Image stay at the chosen size percentage as per users setting (i.e. if it opens at 100% zoom, that's fine, but if I set it to "fit screen", or "x%" it should stay there when changing active window).
Actual result-
Every, single, time that a new active window is chosen, whether because a new file was opened, or because a new active window was chosen, the 4 windows on the screen are resized. The resize makes the active window fit as much of the physical screen (the display) as possible towards the 100% zoom view.
The image also defaults to 100% zoom. This happend everytime a new active window is chosen.

Hi,

I work with Photoshop on a daily basis. I usually work with several files open at the same time. Referencematerial as well as workfiles.
To do so, I work with a 4-up setup.

Before the update, I would open files as I went, and move them around to the desired space I was working in. A big part of my work also involves sharing parts of muy screen as I work, meaning I need certain parts to NOT be shared. This was not a problem before, as I could share certain percentages of my screen.

However, since the update yesterday I find that anytime I switch the "active" window in Photoshop, and anytime I load a new file, it will resize the window to the max size of that particular file.
Even if the image is in a docked state.

I.e. I have four files up files on my screen. I click on one of them, and the window it is in will resize to fit the full image, at 100% size.
I activate another image, and _that_ window will resize to 100% size of that image.

Every time I click on a different imge, it will resize it to 100% and resize the workspace.

Is there any wy to avoid this? This is causing serious issues for me as it makes it difficult to actually perform my job....

Let me reiterate-
My work mean I have to share he screen on occasion. This means the shared screen is extremely confusing to clients and colleagues. It also means that sometimes things that are under NDA will/would be seen.
On top of this, it causes serious issues in my productivity as I constantly need to resize/zoom the work window.

Can I adjust this in some setting?
Is this a known problem?
Can this be fixed ASAP- I am loosing money on this!

Coraig, I'm pretty sure three months to fix it doesn't qualify as a "fast fix," unless you're comparing it to the year+ it took for them to fix the "save as a copy" problem.

I'm more relieved than happy, but it is thank-worthy.

Thank you.
It did solve the issue I originally asked about.

After the update of this, however, and the Creative Cloud update that was a couple of days ago, I find that my presets cannot be loaded. Everytime the warning that my presets aren't loaded pop up, Photoshop puts a tempfile into my %users%/..Roaming/ - folder. This file is roughly 15Gb large (which I assume is about the size of my presets. The problem with this is that this file isn't temporary, and a new file is added everytime I start photoshop.

In three days I went from having roughly 125GB on my C-drive, to now having somewhere between 15 and 1 Gb.
I just did a complete and utter purge of all things Adobe on the PC, and am reinstalling things currently, and I _really_ hope this solves this, but otherwise I am at loss.

The reason I mention this here is, as the Original Poster of the query, this is the issue I am faced with after the latest updates.
I had an agent on call earlier, who also did remote checks, and his solution was to uninstall, reinstall, photoshop. He moved things around, and every single time the result was less and less memory on the C drive (fyi, only CC and whatever auto-installs on the Cdrive is installed there, my settings is to install everything possible on my D-drive).

Effectively, Photoshop/CC is acting like Bloatware.
Not particularly good for my nerves when I have work and deadlines on the line right now...

This, across every Adobe product I use and have used for nearly 25 years:

Neither the latest version 23.5.5 (CC2022) nor version 24.7.0 (CC2023) fixes this bug when the image window is resized when switching between tabs. I want to set the window size once and not set it for each image separately 1000 times a day..

Why does it take Adobe so long to address any of these issues? My clients don't have years for you to fix your "move fast and break things" disruptive messes.
Also, a $60 cancellation fee if we no longer want to financially contribute to your mess? Get a life.

Could it be a driver issue or an hardware issue? I no longer am having this bug since they fixed it a while back.

The problem is still running, I don't know why everyone keeps saying it's already solved, it's not! I have a completely new computer, a completely clean installation of macOS and Adobe, and yet the window size keeps changing, so where is the error? What is fixed?! Until now, I was working in version CC2022 (23.2) because of this, where everything was fine and I could be super efficient, but I can't install this version on the new computer anymore.

Hi, @stanislavb98449803! Sorry for the trouble. Some users have found that turning on the Window > Application Frame option fixes this issue. This option is only available for Mac users, and since I'm on Windows, I can't test it myself. Could you see if that does the trick for you?

If that doesn't work, I recommend submitting it through our Bug Report Submission Form so the tech team can take a closer look.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks for the patience!

Of course I know Application Frame, but it's also the first thing I turn off, I never understood what it's good for 🙂 I need to work with the desktop, with files and folders, and Application Frame hides everything, that's perhaps an even worse solution, you have to hide the application first to be able to open another file.
I know your link to the form, but it doesn't lead anywhere, always just to searching for general instructions or to the community forum.

The Photoshop team moved Bugs and Ideas from UserVoice to the Community Forums several years ago. This thread is in Bugs already, so the developers will see and track it.

The Application frame makes Adobe apps work like Windows when using macOS. Some folks like it and others don't. It's your choice. For the purposes of tracking down the bug, however would you mind enabling the application frame for a short time to see if the issue still occurs? Then disable it again.
