P: Photoshop can't open, freezes on splash image, uses all of ram trying to open then crashes.

I have googled every possible variation of this problem and tried every fix for this problem, none of them worked. I have tried reinstalling photoshop, deleting everything even remotely related to photohop in the appdata, deleting custom fonts, restarting the computer, updating graphics and computer, and holding every possible combination of alt, ctrl and shift while trying to launch in administrator mode. The result is always the same. It opens the splash image, gets to loading preferences or brushes, spikes RAM usage to every last byte of RAM I have, freezes the computer, then crashes.

And no i'm not running it on a potato i'm running it on an Alienware Aurora 4090, it should have more than enough power to handle this and Photoshop ran perfectly fine for months. Then just today it crashed and has never started up again.

Photoshop version 25.11

UPDATE

We identified a problem with a recent Adobe update that caused Photoshop and several other Adobe beta apps to fail to launch. We’ve released an updated installer to fix this problem. Please download and install the latest Creative Cloud beta applications. This update should resolve the launch issue.

Thanks,

Cory - Photoshop Product Manager

I'm having the same issue. None of my Photoshop versions will open. From seeing all these comments, at least I now know it's an Adobe issue and not my computer or account.

Totally agree. I made the mistake of an update and I missed an important deadline today because of this issue. Adobe is the suite of tools and you pay a premium for it. Not happy that a complete reinstall is the answer. This has cost me money and credibility.

What actually caused it? And whe will it be fixed?

If you reinstall the beta you're back to square one.

Installing beta software is always at your own risk, that's why it's beta. You may need to choose which one you want to use.

Hi,  I've been using the beta version for quite some time too.  Today, I couldn't open either the beta version or the normal one.  I used it yesterday but today no matter what I do, it just fails to open.  I get an error message.

And the error message is what exactly?

What have you done for all-purpose trouble-shooting so far?
Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:

Photoshop and beta won't start - stuck on "loading brushes" - "loading preferences"
1. I don't have any brushes
2. I have uninstalled and reinstalled
3. Takes a long time to boot and the whole system hangs.
4. I reinstalled all drivers

Hi everyone

out of the blue photoshop (and illustrator) updated to the latest version crashes at startup.

Photoshop version 22.2 works but the newer 25.11 (and even 25.9.1 previous version) does not

The operating system is updated to Sonoma 14.5

Macbookpro 2021 16" M1 Pro

I tried to:

- Uninstall and reinstall the two apps

- Uninstall Creative Cloud with the Adobe tool

- Clear preferences when starting both programs

- Clear the cloud and OOBE cache

Before this error I did not make any changes to the operating system, plug-ins or apps

Hola. Es posible que puedas solucionarlo restaurando las preferencias:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seOVrjs1OYo

También puedes desinstalar y volver a instalar. Si lo anterior no soluciona el problema entonces usar la utilidad Adobe Cleaner tool: https://helpx.adobe.com/es/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

@Bogdan Bobo

Dude, I don't know if we have the same "CC Cleaner Tool" or if I missed something, but I didn't see in this tool any option to clean "Beto only". The only thing I found is options to clean ALL the CC, or some apps.

But ... in Adobe CC app, the CC manager, it is possible to install or uninstall any CC apps, and in the "beta" tab ... we have the list of all Beta Apps and uninstall any of it. Which I did, and Photoshop now works.

So yes, removing all the Beta is a solution, but the tool used is not the same, and removing all Beta from Creative Cloud app takes 2-3 minutes, cleaning the CC suite take hours and you have to resintall everything + the plug ins (you have to have the installers) + logging again at all plug-ins (you have to have the login/pass for each) ... we are speaking of hours and hours 🙂

In the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool, you need to choose option 3. It will then show you all the (Adobe) applications installed, and next to each application, there is a number. You enter the number and confirm. After it deletes (3-4 seconds), you repeat the process for each beta version. The entire operation doesn't take more than 3-4 minutes. What's interesting is that it doesn't delete the whole application; it remains installed. Somehow, it removes the internal links with Creative Cloud. That's all that needs to be done. Since reinstalling everything and starting over would take a long time, I provided this solution.

Happened to me today, fixed it by using the "Clean All" option on the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.
Cleaning only Photoshop & Photoshop (Beta) witht he tool didn't work. Many thanks to this community page & will_in_KC for guiding us through this. 🙂

Hello everyone!

Let me explain what happened shortly:

Yesterday when I tried to open PDF logo file in Adobe Illustrator (for PNG version), it stopped working. So I did the same in Adobe Photoshop Beta, and had the same problem...

After that, anytime I try to open Photoshop or the Illustrator - both freezing!

I reinstalled both Photoshop and Illustrator a few times, but it didn't help

What should I do? Please, help
