Hi

Try enabling this option in preferences and restarting Photoshop to see if it helps

Try this: Deactivate Native Canvas under Preferences > Tech Preview.

Restart Photoshop

@mark_dahm Same issue happening with my Windows 10 program. Running a 1070 ti graphics card. Turning off the native canvas fixed it, but I'm pretty upset that a program update could make it through testing with this large of an issue.

This problem did not reproduce on all systems here, and we had a fix that addressed the problem on the customer's systems that had the issue, so we thought we had it fixed; sorry for the inconvenience; the range of GPU hardware is vast and some combinations (that we don't have readily available to us) can exhibit issues.

After installing PS update August 2021, I open PS, select an image, it opens but the home screen is still there behind it.

If I close the image and open a new one, PS freezes and the only way out is task manager.

Any Ideas?

Have you tried resetting your Photoshop preferences?

Go to Preferences/General and click "Reset preferences on Quit" and relaunch PS.

First, try disabling GPU in the preferences (Preformance tab). Any better?
If not, recalibrate and build a new ICC display profile, the old one might be corrupted.
If you are using software/hardware for this task, be sure the software is set to build a matrix not LUT profile, Version 2 not Version 4 profile.
Some have reported color issues with displays that have an HDR option. Open Display Settings and toggle off the "Use HDR" switch if such an option exists.
If turning OFF GPU works, it's a GPU bug and you need to contact the manufacturer or find out if there's an updated driver for it.
Also see: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/acr-gpu-faq.html

Maybe try this :  Go to Preferences >Technology Previews and check Deactivate Native Canvas. Then quit and restart Photoshop; any better?

I'm experiencing the same problem with Intel HD Graphics 4600 on an Intel Core i5-4310M (Windows 10 Pro 21H1). Deactivate Native Canvas seems to have solved the issue.

Hi folks, I'm suddenly getting a really annoying and distracting pixelated distortion effect on artboard around my canvas when in RGB mode (see attached). Doesn't happen in CMYK or Grayscale, but I need to be able to work in RGB. Just started today, nothing gets rid of it. Been using Photoshop since v1 and have never seen this before - how do I fix?? Makes it impossible to work in RGB mode because it's so distracting from the image on working on (worse than it looks from this pic of just a blank white screen) - arrgghh, please help/advise!

I haven't made any updates recently and use it every day. It just started happening today for no apparent reason. Wasn't even a re-launch, I still had it active since yesterday - but didn't have the problem yesterday.

After the latest update, whenever i open a new document, these weird pixels appear. They stay still at the exact position, no matter i zoom in or out. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm using Macbook Pro 16" 2019. Thanks.

Does turning on »Deactivate Native Canvas« (Photoshop > Preferences > Technology Previews) and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

Hi, I'm trying to work in Photoshop 2021 (22.5), but I get this glitch in the background. It keeps changing as I move the canvas, zoom etc, and I don't know how I can fix it. I have tried closing the program, restarting the computer and even uninstalling and reinstalling the program. It's not a problem with the file either because it happens with all the files I open. I have also deleted the cache of the computer.... I don't know what to do but this makes my work very difficult. 😞

Don't know if this information about my laptop helps, but I'll leave it here:

Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model ID: MacBookPro16.1
Processor name: 6-Core Intel Core i7
Processor speed: 2.6 GHz
Processor count: 1
Total number of cores: 6
Level 2 cache (per core): 256 KB
L3 cache: 12 MB
Hyper-Threading Technology: Enabled
Memory: 16 GB

I launched Photoshop today and every file I open has these strange diaganol pixel lines outside my image area. Any idea why this happened and how to remove them? I've restarted my Mac several times. Should I uninstall and reinstall Photoshop or is there a trick to remove these annoying lines?

See attached. Thx!
