ok, I think I found a trick to unlock photoshop menus. After opening camera raw and going back, I clicked on the "library" item in the right panel and the menus magically unlocked... or before starting camera raw go to "library" and once you go back the menus worka.pngexpand image

Hi All! While the team is investigating this, please use this quick workaround when you see this issue.

  • Simply press CMD + TAB to focus away from Photoshop and into any other application, then return to Photoshop.

Let us know if this helps. Thanks!

Do you mean the Photoshop menus? And ACR is by then closed again? That was a bit unclear.

If that's it, haven't seen that here. But that's on Windows. It sounds like some ACR process is still running.

A weird issue just popped up on one of my computers. The Menu Bar at top is completely non functional. If you click on File, Image, Edit, Layer, Etc. nothing happens. The menus do not drop down.

This error does not occur immediately after the launch of PS25. They function normally then. But if I open a file, the issue is immediately triggered.

I am running Photoshop 26.0.0 and ACR 17.0. And Sonoma 14.7.

I have tried completely uninstalling Photoshop and reinstalling it with no change.

Any ideas?

Of course, immediately after I post this the problem cleared up. It had been present for days. Not sure why it went away now.

If anyone knows what might have happened, I'm curious.

Another Mac user posted the exact same thing yesterday, but hasn't come back. Hopefully just a temporary glitch.

I am having the same problems as @Patty248993045taj with Photoshop Top menu not working after opening camera raw filter from Photoshop, making an edit and going back to Photoshop after Updating 2025 last week.

Very frustrating and made me look incompetent infront of a client.

Do we have any news of fix please @Sameer K

I am also having the same issue but here's what I have noticed: If you open a CR2 file without making any changes in the camera raw section, everything works as expected. If you make any changes, no menubar. If you use Liquify (as another user reported), no menubar. Behavior continues until a restart of Photoshop.

I would attach a file with my System Info but apparently, no text file file types are supported here. (tried pdf, txt, docx and rtf - all cause "not supported" error)

This same issue has started happening to me, but only when I open Camera Raw Filter. It started after I updated my OS to Sonoma 14.7. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling photoshop. Nothing seems to work. After I open and close Camera raw filter, the top menu gets blurry and I am not able to click it or get any drop downs menus to work. I can use the side menu though. I have to force quit every time I try to use Raw camera filter, whether I make any edits with the filter or not.

Hoping for this to be fixed in v26.1

Having the same issue since I updated to PS V26.0 and PS Beta 26.1, Both versions are doing the same thing. Open the app it works for a little while then the menu bar becomes unusable and some items I use frequently don't have shortcuts meaning I have to save everything, close PS and re-open until the menu bar works. Very frustrating.

Hopefully they fix it soon.

Same here. The issue seems to be related to ACR having directed a file over to photoshop.

Hey @antonio_2618, can you share a video of the issue and your system info? You can find this by going to Help > System Info copying and pasting into a text file and attaching it here.

Did this happen in a previous version?  ^CM

Hey all!

Would you mind testing the latest version of Photoshop (beta) from the Beta Apps section in the Creative Cloud desktop app?

If the issue exists, DM me directly with the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > upload and attach here. We will continue to investigate this.

Thanks!

I was able to "fix" the issue by uninstalling and the reinstalling an earlier version of the app. This seems to be the best solution while we wait for Adobe to fix. I'm currently using photoshop 25.11 and it 's been working great.

@mkalex The original issue is related to menus freezing after using Camera Raw. Does this happen with Liquify as well?

Thanks!

Hey, @laura_9106. While rolling back to an early version is a solution in a way, it would help us identify the issue further if you could install the current version of Photoshop (Beta) and let me know how it goes.

Thanks!
