P: PS 26.3 Stroke Path Choices apply incorrect tool; applies tool above it

Hi!

When I was making Fake 3D using path assignment for my course I had an issue with stroke options for path.

When I choosed Stroke Path - Mixer Brush Tool I got a result from Pattern Stamp

When I tried Stroke Path - Healing Brush there I got result from Mixer brush.

I didn't check all options on the Stroke Path list but there simd to be a mix-up.

Adobe Photoshop Version: 26.3.0 20250122.r.156 bfca642 x64

Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create mixer brush (for example circle with gradient)

2. Create path with any pen tool

3. Go to Paths - Work Path - Stroke Path

4. Choose "Mixer Brush tool"

Expected result: path is stroked with mixer brush that was created in step 1

Actual result: path is stroked with pattern and brush size from Pattern Stamp Tool

1. Could you please share a test .PSD file that shows the issue happening? It would be really helpful. If you have trouble attaching the file, you can use a file-sharing service like Google Drive or WeTransfer.

Hi @Aleke 

Here is more detailed workflow:

1. Create new file

2. Create new empty layer

3. With Elliptical Marquee Tool make a circle celection on empty layer

4. Choose Gradient tool and fill secection using any color gradient (I use Classic Gradient mode, because other gave me some errors previously - not related to that problem but still)

5. Deselect 

6. Choose Mixer brush tool and make brush size a little bigger than circle with gradient

7. Press Alt key and click left mouse button on gradient circle so it becomes brush 

8. Draw something to make sure that our gradiented brush works correctly

9. Create new layer

10. Choose Curvative Pen tool

11. Draw some simple shape (ex. half circle)

12. In menu choose Mixer brush tool once again so it's active (I don't know if it's valid or not but that's how it was in my course video)

13In layers go to Path

14. With right mouse button click on Work Path

15. From opened list choose "Stroke Path"

16. When Stroke Path popup is opened - open Tool list and choose Mixer Brush tool

17. Click OK

Expected result: path is stroked with mixer brush that we created

Acrual result: path is stroked with pattern that was not chosen

Here is link to test file I created for your team showing that issue.

As I mentioned before - when I also tried to choose other option - Healing brush tool on step 16 I got the result that I needed. So I believe, that the issue is with options in Tool list in Stroke Path menu. Because Healing brush tool is right after Mixer brush in that list of options. And I suppose some of previous options moved options order somehow by 1.
