Used to be able to quickly delete swatches by this method. Now you have to right click + Delete or go into Preset Manager which both add several steps. Why in the world would this shortcut to swatch management been removed?

It's my understanding too many people complained that the Alt-Opt shortcut to deleting a swatch made them lose the swatch accidentally. I never had that happen and liked the shortcut, but we probably have to live with the extra step of using the c-s menu.

It's not even in the Panel Menu to make it a custom shortcut—perhaps that ought to be the feature request (idea). It might get more traction than asking them to reinstate something removed due to complaints — perhaps from the studies they conduct with customers on-site, whatever.

Hmm that was stil avialable in last release. I don't see reasons it was deleted:

I saw your answer in other topic, but now I guess it's like you say only your understanding why scissors are not working anymore, but real reason can be just like with some other stuff I found Abobe simple missed for next releases to keep. So it may be more like bug - we don't know why there are no more scissors as I don't find any topic anyone complained for this, and like I said in other topic I can' imagine how users could accidentally remove their swatches multiple or even single times.

If anyone from staff can check it, please tell us was that intentional move to take out scissors or was there some reason you did it, like you perhaps removed this functionallity accidentally?

Apparently, the decision was made to remove that function because too many people reported deleting swatches accidentally.

The function of deleting single color in a swatch in Photoshop by holding Option+click (while hovering over color block) no longer possible. Please bring this capability back. Makes it very difficult to customize a palette/swatch.

Could you send me to a topic where I can read how that even possible someone deleted swatches accidentally. I tried to reproduce such accident but can't figure out any way I could do it, so I want to see how others did that happened to them. THX! Is there chance you can make that optionable?

btw there should be other way of merge duplicated topics. When you do it now we can read only first post of that, while to see next we must click a link, what I guess most poeple don't do. Is there option on this forum when you merge duplicated theards it shows all content of other discussion?

The request came from our call and chat support. I don't know of a particular thread.

Why did you remove the Ctrl+click function in the swatched panel. It used to be so easy to delete swatched inside the swatches panel by Ctrl+click and get a scissor to delete swatched. I could Shift+click and delete many at the same time. The best place to administrate tasks like this is inside the panel it concerns. WHY did you remove that functionality?! Did you have to remove it?

Thanks for the feedback. As Jeff mentioned, the scissor functionality was intentionally removed because of frequent user complaints over accidental swatch deletion. We are currently investigating possible keyboard shortcuts that would be less accident-prone. Ideas welcome!

Hannah

C'mon. Really? That's  sounds like a far fetched reason.  There are those who also drove their car into the front window of their local store too. Should we remove the cars and the stores? That's my response.
