P: Save for Web settings reset every Photoshop reset (macOS Mojave 10.14)

Each time I restart Photoshop, the Save for Web dialog box forgets the preset I was using. I save to JPEG 99% of the time but PS defaults back to GIF. This is a newer problem — it cropped up a couple months ago though I can't remember which version. I know Save for Web is on its way out but until Export As catches up with my needed features this regression is annoying for me (especially since I restart a lot with flaky MacOS Mojave right now.)RackMultipart20181004116911epg-e3291b97-3d1c-4166-8e56-47c7e50e09ae-2062079412.pngRackMultipart20181004116911epg-e3291b97-3d1c-4166-8e56-47c7e50e09ae-2062079412.png

Thanks. I was able to reproduce this. Seems to be specific to Mojave. Engineering is investigating.

I tried to instal older version of Photoshop and it doesn't work and I think the main problem is Mojavebtw it is not just problem in Preset but I have the same problem with metadata info in the same window.. Every restart forgets all preset parametres and Metadata and when I saved my photos, sometime I lose all metadata info.. please do something with that

The latest Photoshop update to 20.0.1 did not fix this Mojave incompatibility.

Any hope for a fix down the road? It's driving me crazy.

In Photoshop CC 2019 (20.0.1), function "Save for the web (old)", i would like to change the preset for the save function -
I have clicked on the small icon for that at the right top, and changed the three settings which i have marked with red in the enclosed screen shot below (I would like Jpeg, 100% quality and "all" in metadata below.
a Jpeg settings.irs window is then shown, furthermore threafter I ́m asked to overwrite the previous settings, which I accepted, but....
THE CHANGE OF SETTINGS does not "stick" . The next time I need to save an image for the web I have to alter those three fields again away from GIF, 60% qual nd lower field another undesired alternative. Frustrating!

I have a Mac Book Pro, and OS Mojave was recently installed.

I can't believe that it's three months later and this is STILL a bug I have to put up with EVERY DAY!

When can we expect it'll be fixed?  Will it ever be fixed?  I assumed it'd be fixed in 20.0.2 but alas I've just updated and once again all of the settings are reset in Save for Web and EVERY TIME I have to click through 8 different options to set them to the correct values.  How can something as fundamental as saving the default values be left broken for so long?

Why isn't everyone switching to the replacement interface, Export As...?

Save for Web has been deprecated and is no longer supported. Export As is the replacement.

On the other hand, bad news: I can't get the settings in the Export As dialog to stick between Photoshop settings. It always opens up set to save as DNG, which I NEVER use.

Same problem as with Save for Web!

Yeah, ok, let’s use Export As then instead. But the same problem remains...how to save preset settings?
I have found an acceptable way to use the old „Save for the web“ without too much extra work since Adobe does not want to solve the problem, as long as this function remains within the Photoshop tool range.

Photoshop CC 2019/ 20.0.5 was released today. It seems the SFW problem is fixed. There is no default to GIF, but only to the last format saved. If other Mojave users can confirm this, this case can be closed.

Yes. It is fixed. The first default after upgrading is to jpg low. But once I set it to jpg maximum (100), it retained the setting — yeah!

I can't remember my original reasons for not liking the new Export As dialog box. I just tried it again and I didn't like that I couldn't compare original and the export preview. I just noodled around and decreasing JPEG quality to 1% still showed no degradation to the image. Am I doing something wrong? I need to export to smaller file sizes with higher compression settings and to eyeball the image quality before doing so.

Yes, it appears as if it has been fixed. Which is what we have been nagging about for quite some time now. Persistency pays ("the customer is always right, eh?) !
So, thank you very much Mr. Photoshop!...an excellent image editing tool has improved even more!

Yes, I am very satisfied too. It will be much easier to edit our images from now on, and it is very positive that the software engineers at Photoshop have listen us and finally fixed the problem!

My Photoshop reports that it's the 20.0.5 release, but the issue is NOT FIXED for me! I even restarted my Mac, but no matter how many times I use the Export As to save as a jpeg, the next time I use it it just defaults to the utterly useless DNG, and all the other settings are defaults, too.
