P: Shake Reduction crashes

I have two 16gb RAM computers, and on each using Photoshop CC 2019 with the .01 update, when using Shake Reduction in Sharpening, it inevitably seizes up then crashes the program. In addition, when I am asked to file a report, my email address is always reported as wrong when it is the same one Adobe uses to reach me.

I have the same issue -- constant crashing.  Sometimes a crash WON'T occur on a small file.

I'm also getting Photoshop randomly crashing out while rendering shake reduction - Even when it works its a very long an tedious process even on my i7 32Gb Ram computer, but so frustration when if crashed 1/2 way through the process.

Hoping the new version will fix this but it still crashes on  my Mac mini desktop and my MacBook Pro. This bug has been going around for a long time on lots of different computers so it must be the code. No other filter crashes photoshop with such regularity.

What's even more disappointing is that after all the users complaints, it's not even showing up on their list of known issues at least not that I could find when I looked yesterday.

I can't believe it's been a serious bug with endless complaints for 10 months. By this point, I like to intentionally run it, so it crashes, just so I can send engineering some snarky remark about it.

I have been unable to use shake reduction for close to one year now.  Submitted many crash reports.  No response, ever.  I downloaded a trial of photoshop elements 2020 and shake reduction does work using the elements 2020 program.

So hopefully we have a solution in store!

Just tried it out and for the first time ever it didn't crash even when I moved the box as it was rendering the preview.

It no longer crashes, but is extremely slow and unresponsive on a very fast computer, but on an old slow laptop it works much faster.  I am using a Ryzen 3900X cpu, nvidia 2060 Super GPU with Studio Driver, and 64gb RAM. Remember more than a year back it worked fine.

It looks like it's using graphics acceleration for compute, but native operating system GPU acceleration is disabled for some reason. Let me ask around and see what I can find out.

I would like to add that for the past few days Ps crashes whenever I try to run Shake Reduction. It usually collapses while rendering the fine image. I have sent crash reports about 5 times. Everything should be uptodate including my graphics drivers. Here is a copy of my system info:

Simply install 2020 and all your problems will go away. I hated 2018 and 2019, but have to say that 2020 is stable on my Win 10 system.

If your on a Mac, the Dock link often does not update. Check Application folder, and launch Photoshop 2020 manually, then add to Dock yourself. For Photoshop 2020, it shuld be launching with image of girl looking out a window. That's 2020.

Hi again, I'm not on a Mac, but I thought that I should have another look at what version I had. I did try to update Ps, but it ignored me. Funny things seem to be happening with my computer just now and the internet is at a crawl. I just love computers!
