Vanishing point export to .vpe and opening in After effect is not possible any longer. Since Photoshop CC 2014 the PNG files are not right. I cannot open them in Photoshop as well. I tried it on 3 different computers. Is this a bug?

Hi Kevin,

This should indeed be fixed in the 2014.1 (15.1.0) update. The current update, 2014.2.1 (15.2.1) should also be exporting.vpe correctly.

If you still have issues with the latest updates, ping back and I can look into it further.

regards,
steve

Thanks, for some reason I only have 2014.0.0
I just tried re-downloading via the creative cloud app and it still just downloads the 0.0 version. How do I get the 2014.1 (15.1.0) update?

Here is the screenshot. Does it matter if this is an EDU account?

VPE totally not working between Photoshop CC 14 and After Effects CC 14, running PS 2014.2.2 and AE version 13.2.0.49 on a new MacBook Pro: 2.8 GHz i7 with 16GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M Graphics card.

PNGs coming out of PS CC 14 are completely useless and irrelevant to the planes I drew.

Tried it with the same PSD in Photoshop CS5 and the PNG planes exported nicely. With some minor fussing with layer Orientation I achieved a usable result.

Help? I'm trying to teach this technique to my students and we're all extremely frustrated.

Any guidance would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Kay

When using hiDPI in Photoshop, the After Effects export function in Vanishing point makes the texture .png completely wrong. It somehow takes a different part of what I have highlighted. Reverting to 100% UI scale makes everything work again.
