If in View / Preferences / File Handling I set 5 or 10 or 15 or 30 or 60 minutes for 'Automatically Save Recovery Information Every' box and apply changes, and then after equivalent time from doing that action I tick on 'Use Graphics Processor' box in 'View / Preferences / Performance', apply changes and go to open file (File / Open) I always have set Portable Bit Map (*.BPM, *.PGM , *.PPM) file format.

After I untick 'Use Graphics Processor' box and go to open file it's back to default so: All Formats. And so on, any time I tick said box the file format changes to PBM, when box is unticked default is back.

Windows 10 / Photoshop 2020 (21.1.1); bug reported on PR as well.
