P: Zoom animation using shortcut isn't smooth & doesn't center on the view

I really like the update for Photoshop 2020 but it has a few small issues.

When using the hotkeys to zoom it no longer uses the smooth zoom animation and also doesn't center on the view correctly. This is especially apparent when using canvas rotation as now it often zooms into the grey outside the canvas.

Suggestions:
-Ability to set zoom increments for mouse wheel zoom
-Ability to set the transformation reference point to a finer crosshair / different crosshair design

I've had the same issue! Plus when flicking between layer styles it freezes on the previous one, using the ctrl+ to zoom in then activates the change!?! Also crashes thereafter when trying to save out!! Not good at all. Still trying to find a solution before I commit to using this version full time.

After the upgrade --> PS 2020, zooming with [Ctrl]+[-/+] is not smooth anymore (regardless of the settings @ Preferences/Tools).
Switching on/off 'Animated Zoom' doesn't make any difference.

And yes, I do use a current NVIDIA Quadro card with the latest driver (441.12-quadro-desktop-notebook-win10-64bit-international-whql).
And I do have full GPU support with OpenCL switched on.

On Photoshop 2020 (v.21.0.1) animated zoom does not work when zooming with a keyboard shortcut.
It works when you use zooming tool.

I've just installed Photoshop 2020, but can't seem to get scrubby zoom (animated zoom) to work. I've checked all the usual option boxes in preferences, like 'animated zoom', 'use advanced graphics processor settings>use open CL'. The zoom in/zoom out options under view is still giving me stiff zooms. Is there something I'm forgetting/missing?

When will it be fixed? It's impossible to work for me in the new Ps because of the broken zoom. It was a month ago and still no fixes!

With todays update of PS 2020 21.1.0, I can confirm smooth zoom does work again.
