" I just installed PS 2020 and the zooom
functions no longer work as they did in 2019. In 2019 the "Zoom In" and
"Zoom Out" options under the "View" dropdown menu would use Animated
Zoom and zoom towards the screen center. In 2020 these zoom shortcuts no
longer use Animated Zoom, and zooming while the view/canvas is rotated
has unpredictable results. Zoom sometimes zooms towards screen center,
and other times zooms towards points that aren't on screen. These
problems with zoom are bad enough that I've got to use 2019 for now.
For the life of me, I can't figure out how to re-enable this functionality. My settings are exactly as they were in 2019. "
" Yeah, Windows 10 x64 - Version 1809, with Cumulative Update Package
KB4507469. GPU/Performance settings are in an attached image below.
For
what it's worth, setting "Drawing Mode" to Basic and Advanced has no
effect on this issue. The weird behavior with zooming on rotated views
is also present with the Zoom Tool, with or without scrubbing style zoom
enabled. In 2019 with these same settings, zooming is working as
expected.
In Photoshop (v21.0), if zooming is performed with View> Flip Horizontal (Ctrl + Shift + D) turned on, it will always move to the left. When I want to zoom to the right side, move the cursor to the right side and perform zooming, but even in that case, it will be zoomed in so that it can be drawn to the left side, which is very inconvenient.
It was normal with the horizontal flip turned off, and this problem was not seen in the previous version (v20).

I'm also having this issue on 21.0.0. Zoom seems all messed up- hard to describe but I think it's zooming as if the canvas isn't rotated even when it is. Happens with the zoom tool whilst clicking, or using the hotkeys (Z or ctrl + space).
As a frequent user of the rotate and zoom hotkeys, I look forward to this being fixed.
There is a bug with the Zoom tool (Z) when it's being used with the rotate view tool (R). The rotation point is in the middle of the image when you have a rotation on your viewer instead of zooming in the point where you clicked with the zoom tool. I hope I am explaining this right so you can understand this 😉
P.I.T.A - Big Time! When image is rotated pressing Z and dragging with mouse or pen the image both zooms and scrolls. Every time I zoom I have to refind my place. P.I.T.A!
Been learning Photoshop and was baffled when this first happened, but thankfully it's a bug, not a feature. Hard to draw curves properly without rotation! Can we get an ETA on a hotfix?
After 2020 update, the zoom is getting stuck. I use 'Ctrl + Space bar' to zoom in and out with Wacom Pen. In some instances, the zoom function doesn't work at all and get's stuck.
Similar lag/freeze is experienced with healing brush tool as well. It gets stuck for few seconds and then starts working again.
For me this is happening in both 2019 and 2020. I uninstalled 2019 and using 2018 instead.
When the canvas is rotated using the Rotate View Tool (default keybind R) and rotated to a sufficiently large amount (>70 degrees), both the Zoom Tool and the zoom in/out options in the View dropdown menu will not center the zoom at the correct location, i.e. it should center at the cursor for the Zoom Tool or the center of the screen for the View menu options.
When Scrubby Zoom is turned off for the Zoom Tool, you can easily see that the zoom selection box originates in an incorrect location when the view is rotated.
This only happens at large view rotation values, and does not appear to happen when view rotation is under 50 degrees or so.
This problem was introduced in Photoshop 2020; it behaved correctly in Photoshop 2019.
Very annoying. Working on a very wide artboard and as soon as i hit zoom with a rotate canvas it zooms into the pasteboard and i cant even see artboard anymore. please fix
This is so annoying and makes it almost impossible to do my job! I use these features constantly while drawing and with rotation or a horizontal flip of the canvas, the zoom is not working correctly. Please fix it fast!
There is a problem with the zoom when I used "rotate view tool". I use continuously this option during retouching and at the same time I use to push zoom in or out from the keyboard to make it easier the painting. On Ph20 the screen passes to another portion and it is impossible to work in this way. I never had this problem with the previous versions. It's incredible that this happens. Impossible to work.
