Photoshop cc 2018 - no longer recognises subscription to a new plan

Hello,

I have contacted customer support which directed me to the Community Forums so hopefully someone will be able to help.

 

Context:

Around the end of 2022, I downloaded Ps cc2018 (v19.0.0) as well as the Creative Cloud app through a licence provided by my school (as part of my studies), on my computer currently running macOS 10.13.

I have just finished my studies, and therefore the creative cloud license from my school terminated early July (07/07/2024). Therefore, I decided to pay for the Photography plan which allows for a desktop version of photoshop. I started the "free-trial" (7-days) and payed for the plan.

The Ps cc2018 app launched as usual, asking me to sign-in and showing that I was on a free-trial. When the free-trial ended, I was still able to use the app - something I expected since I had already payed for the subscription (and received a confirmation email).

 

Today while working, due to some lag, I decided to quite Ps cc2018. On relaunching the app, the PDApp launches showing me that the free trial is over.

I have the option to "License this Software" or "Join Now":

  • "License this Software" - leads to me having to sign-in, then a message titled "No Subscription Found" stating: We couldn't find a Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 associated with this Adobe ID. You can purchase a new subscription or if you do have a subscription and are unable to access it, please contact Customer Support. <--I have already contacted Customer Support which directed me here, and I have purchased a new subscription which is active in the Creative Cloud App. Then my only option is then to quit the app
  • "Join Now" - leads me to the Adobe website on an error page: "Sorry, we couldn't find that page"

 

My Creative Cloud app shows that I have Photoshop installed, and that I can install the corresponding apps available in my plan.

My computer is running macOS 10.13, and isn't able to update to the requirements for the latest versions of Adobe Applications. This isn't a problem for me as I should be able to continue using cc2018 as I have been for the past 2 years.

 

I would like to be able to continue using Ps cc2018 (that I have already downloaded and works on my computer).

Does anyone know of a solution, or of how to get Ps cc2018 to recognise my current subscription ?

One thing to try is signing out of the Creative Cloud app, and then signing back in.

Hello, thank you for the reply ! I have just tried sign out/in of the Creative Cloud app, but the same thing occurs when launching Photoshop (same messages with the same outcomes)

Have same problem with Windows 8.1. Looks like Adobe don't care at all about their users, only interested that you pay for subscribtion.
