Photoshop is freezing constantly

Hi,

since the 2019 version it got worse and worse and PS documents freeze randomly. I can save and close documents, tho. So they don't necessarily crash. But of course sometimes it also happens that a selection or move tool freezes a document and crashesthe tool. Happens especially when I'm working fast. It's extremely frustrating and dangerous for my professional work. No, no previous version helps, the scratch disc is 1TB and my machine is strong. It could possibly be a third party pluthird-partyon't think so because it happened even before I got them.

I can't be the only one!
Is there a solution? Is Adobe aware of this? Will it be fixed? If this continues, I will no longer be able to use this program. I've been working with PS for 17 years and it has literally gotten worse. Excuse me for the rant, I hope it is me and a hardware issue and I am wrong. Any chance to figure out why it freezes?

When Photoshop crashes, this is the first thing to do, try resetting your Photoshop preferences. Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (macOS) immediately after launching Photoshop. You will be prompted to delete the current settings. You can also reset preferences upon a quit if Photoshop is running by going into General Preferences>General>Reset on Quit.

(macOS only) Open the Preferences folder in the Library folder*, and drag the Adobe Photoshop CS Settings folder to the Trash.

This action only affects the items found in the preferences dialog box. Numerous program settings are stored in the Adobe Photoshop Preferences file, including general display options, file-saving options, performance options, cursor options, transparency options, type options, and options for plug‑ins and scratch disks. Brushes (and lots of other setting) are not affected by the above instructions for deleting preferences. You may wish to make a screen capture of the settings in the Preferences dialog to reset them prior to deleting of this file.

*To manually delete Photoshop preferences:
Quit Photoshop.
Navigate to Photoshop's Preferences folder:
macOS**: Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings
Windows 10: Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop [version]/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings
**Note:The user Library folder is hidden by default on macOS. In the Finder, hold down the Option key when using the Go menu. The library will appear below the current user's home directory.
Now you can drag the entire Adobe Photoshop [Version] Settings folder to the desktop or somewhere safe for a backup of your settings

If that doesn't fix the issue:
Go to Preferences > Performance... and uncheck Multithreaded Compositing - and restart Photoshop.
Still crashing? 
Go to Preferences > Performance... click Advanced Settings... and uncheck "GPU Compositing" - then restart Photoshop. Still crashing?

I am on Windows too and I do not see any problem. Beside above suggestion pay attention to drivers. There was problem with nVidia GPU's which is fixed with latest drivers. Update drivers manually from nVidia site or use their app GeForce Experience.

(For Windows 10 only) (I have two PC. Ryzen, intel)
From the day Photoshop 24.0=2023 (I installed it right after it was released a few release.), there was no single Crash or Delay. It's not perfect, but at least in 2020/2021/2022 we've experienced a lot of collisions several times a day, and it's a very different experience from then. The current Photoshop is a very stable version.
Update your Nvidia driver to at least 517.40 studio driver. Previous drivers will crash.
