Photoshop lagging in good pc

luckily i was able to buy it but adobe photoshop is very slow, when i use the text tool the typing is totally slow and stuck, the whole program is totally slow, and my computer has 16gb of ram and a good video card.

As I said, I always used photoshop, so I don't think it's something related to my pc's configuration.

I've done all the steps that go through to optimize the program in the preferences and still nothing has changed.

can anybody help me?

What is the exact Photoshop version of you currently using?
2019 is really a light and lovely version when I think about it personally. (It's an opinion from my subjective experience)
So a lot of people feel a bit slow or a bit heavy if they use versions before Photoshop 2020 and move on to 2021, 2022, 2023.
But it's not so slow that it's impossible to do it.
Please let me know your CPU, RAM, graphics card, driver information, and everything.
Also, please elaborate if it's just slow, or if it's only slow when you open a specific file (e.g., PSD, Tiff, CR2, NEF), or do a specific action.

Well, he's come over to the Righteous side now, so we should probably cut him some slack 😉

My guess is that the pirated version skipped a lot of the advanced GPU functionality. But now there's no getting around it, and the GPU may not be fully up to the task.

System Info might shed some light.

these are my pc configs:
graphics card: RX 570
CPU: I5-3570
RAM: 16GB

Im using the most recent Photoshop version avaible on Adobe, i also try the Beta Version but i have the same result.

Yes the whole app is slow, even when hovering over options even highlights are delayed many times, it's installed on an SSD.

I don't even need to open files for it to be slow already

@Guilherme22816093apqe Go to Photoshop Help Menu/System Info and copy/paste details in a reply. Post only once as the system takes time to process the large amount of data.

This will give us the whole picture of what you are dealing with.

@Guilherme22816093apqe the other reason I'm asking for full specs is do you really only have an RX 570? That card is 6 years old and only clocks in at 1100 ops/sec. The recommended minimum is 2,000. So not slow but not "good" either.

@Guilherme22816093apqe you only have 16.4 GB free disk space. Photoshop minimum requires 50 GB. Free up HD space for scratch disk or Photoshop will lag/crash.

yes, this is the disk where my Windows is installed (local disk C), but photoshop is installed on the local disk F, an SSD with more than 180GB of free space, I also configured it within photoshop for it to allocate this disk with the temporary files.

Do you think that the disk with my windows having little space could be the cause of the problem?

@Guilherme22816093apqe you dont have it configured in Photoshop properly so it only sees the C drive.

Go to preferences/scratch disk and add the F drive and reorder so it's first on the list and relaunch PS.

Having that little disk space can cause a number of problems as PS chokes out.

Well, normal. Actutually any file are slow, even when its empty. Usually i work with 1080x1080 and 1080x1920px, but like i said the program are slow even haven't any file opened.

I've been testing and rolling back every new version release to see if some bugs that I'm paying attention to have been fixed apart from this, but 24.5? 24.6? (I don't remember the exact version) I felt all the actions in Photoshop were delayed a little bit when I was working on the psd file after a certain version. (Of course the size of the image I work on is usually 6000x8000px. But it works perfectly in previous versions.)

So I think this is what you can do.
1. Please record and show me the rack and delay that you are experiencing in the current 24.7 version. (You can easily record with free programs such as OBS. You can share your video on this thread or you can share your address on YouTube.)

I recorded the video with photoshop of this version. as you can see the lag is very strong in the text tool and when I select layers, however all the other tools are slow too, maybe in the video it's not so visible but I guarantee it's not normal.

@Guilherme22816093apqe Yes, it looks like it's abnormally slow.
There are things to try again.

1. Go to Edit - Preference - Technology Previews - Turn on "Deactive Native Canvas", and Restart Photoshop.
Check same or not.

2. If doesn't work, Contact Adobe Customer Center Chat and get a link to download the previous version. It seems hard to run the latest version with your PC.
If you have Photoshop 2022 on your old version installation list, try it first and if you don't have it or if the issue is the same, try installing Photoshop 2020 (21.0.3) version.
That version was the most optimized version of the version with the new schedule photoshop feature (almost as fast as 2019)
