Photoshop Nueral filters have stopped working

About a week ago, I woke up and my nueral filters no longer works. I have been using them for months on a weekly basis without a problem. 

For a week now, I have tried countless numbers of "fixes" found on the internet. I even downgraded from v2023 to v2022 with no luck, I have since gone back to v2023 and lastnight updated to v24.2.0 and still have the same problem.

The problem: Once I select Nueral Filers, the NF panel opens and all the filters are listed, but grayed out. With one exception. The Color Transfer filter works. I have tried editing images that I worked on in the past, a week or even a month ago, but I can not even re-edit those original images.

I know how to use the filters and in the last month have converted dozens of images to Colorized versions without any problems. 

I haven't added any hardware or made any software changes in weeks.

I know this is a on-growing problem with the NFs but please tell me if there is something else I can try. Would a complete PS uninstall and re-install work? If so, please give me instructions on how to best do this.

Let's make sure we're in a default state and there are no stale settings somewhere:

Does it work correctly? 

If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back. 

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

Hi. Yes the GPU box is checked. FYI per an on-line tip, I have already tried using the NF with the the box unchecked, but it didn't make a difference. PS NF still didn't work.

Hi @DVCRUZ, in looking at your sys info, the trouble might have to do with your NVIDIA Quadro P620, which was first released in Feb 2018, so that's five years ago. It has 2 GB of memory, which might not be enough for all neural filters to run smoothly. Plus, your system has built-in memory of 16155 MB (16GB) and that is also a minimum amount. Looks like your scratch volume(s) are also low, with Startup at 237.6G but only 36.9G free. What happens if you check Older GPU mode in Technology Previews under Preferences? That might not make any difference, but it's worth a try?

Thank you for your quick reply. 

Change to an older graphic card option and change to external scratch disk (984gb) but no luck.

It boggles my mind that overnight this problem occurred.

FYI I have the latest graphic card drivers and latest Win 11 update.

@DVCRUZ, did you try rolling back to an earlier version of Photoshop? Since this happened overnight, something must have changed so maybe the latest version isn't as stable for you?

Yes, I tried rolling back to an earlier version but with luck. So, I went back to the latest version.

Is there a way to completly remove PS and all it's associated folders and files and then reinstall with a new download? I know that some times when a program is uninstalled, a lot of folders and files remain and have to be manually deleted.

Okay. I used the Cloud cleaner routine to remove, then reinstall PS. As soon as I opened PS I could see that all my preferences had remained, which tells me that the Cleaner did not remove all old files.

So, PS NF are still not working.

Since the Color Transfer Filter has continued to work during this ordeal, my questions are these.

What makes the Color Transfer Filter different than the other filters? Is it files location? Instruction/programming of the filter? There must be something that sets it apart from all the other filters. A side-by-side comparison of how the filters might revel ths problem.

If I were a developer, this is where I would start my investigation.

Sorry to hear the cleaner tool didn't help and reverting to an earlier release didn't help either. You are not the only user who has reported problems running the Neural filters, and fixes have been mixed. I have not experienced any problems with them from their first release, so any bugs you encounter are not universal. I imagine it comes down to system configuration and available resources to run them. You've tried about every troubleshooting step there is without us having hands on your system. There may be more fixes coming. Wish it was better news for you right now!
