Photoshop Select Inverse Shortcut Fails

I've had this issue in Photoshop for some time and I'm only now annoyed enough to post/report this bug.

When I make a selection on any layer using any selection tool (lasso, wand, etc.) I will often need to "select inverse". The keyboard shourtcut should be shift+ctrl+I but it never works. I have to manually go into the "Select" menu and choose it via the dropdown menu.

It would be very helpful if this can be fixed. Shortcuts are more efficient.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Hi @Bink58 that doesn't sound good. Have you tried any of these solutions?

Perhaps you accidentally overwrite that shortcut? Ensure that you are using English keyboard and that Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts > Set is Photoshop Defaults.

Pretty sure I didn't overwrite it. I don't have many custom shortcuts.  Thanks for the note.

as @Bojan Živković said, you may have a mistyped keyboard short cut
You can check that by going to edit>keyboard shortcuts and open the "folder" seelect as in my screenshot, and check there. You can click on that shortcut sequence directly and change it (or revert to default if you prefer)

Looks like Shift+F7 works. I'll just have to get used to that. The original Shift+Ctrl+I however does not work although it is apparently available. Thanks.

I have the same issue in Ps 2024.

I created a post about it today b/c all the prior posts were either a few years old or on Macs (I'm Win 11) & I'm tired of it not working for a number of releases.
