P: Zooms out while trying to subtract from current selection

option+command+clicking the layer used to subtract those pixels from your selection, however, it appears this shortcut has been updated with "zoom to layer". It still subtracts those pixels, but zooms out every time, which really interrupts my workflow.

This should be fixed in 21.1 update that went out last night.

I just updated to Photoshop 21.0.3 and it appears that the issue as I described it up above is fixed.

Two months. One benefit of being forced into a cloud subscription should be that minor bug fixes are rolled out more quickly.

Option clicking any layer still zooms to content in 21.0.3. Not fixed.

Yeah you all are right. I tried again and it isn't fixed. Earlier I must have been making the selection on a layer that didn't have transparency where I expected it.

I do not know why every new version of photoshop is broken. But i still can't use Photoshop CC 2020 because of this "feature"... I do not need to zoom to the layer option. I never used it, i do not need it, but i use alt key for subtraction dozens of times a day every day!. Please Change it. It is annoying, unusable and broken.

Give us a checkbox in preferences to turn off alt-click layer zoom to fit?

Alt-clicking layer zoom to fit still conflicts with standard pixel masking shortcuts using the alt key and clicking on layer thumbnail.

This is extremely annoying and haven't been fixed in the last two updates.

Anytime a selection is to be masked using either ctrl+alt (remove layer pixels) or ctrl+shift+alt (mask selection within pixels) it also zooms to fit that layer bounds.

It could be solved by not having alt-clicking to zoom active on layer thumbnails but since its generally annoying to zoom whenever you are one pixel of from clicking a clipping mask it would be best to have the option of disabling it altogether.

Alt+click on the little arrow next to layer effect to expand/collapse layer effects globally still zooms to layer :(. PS 21.1.

I'm curious, what is it supposed to do to add the "alt" while clicking on this arrow ?

It hides or shows the layer effects for all layers.

It seems to me that this has only been partially fixed.  Alt-clicking on a layer still zooms the window.  Control/Alt/Shift combos are OK, but Alt alone is still zooming the window.  I'm I reading this right, that this is supposed to be a feature?

I think they for some godforsaken reason kept 'alt click to zoom' when you click on layer panels generally, but masked it away from when Alt+Ctrl clicking layer thumbnails (deselect pixels) or Alt clicking layer edge (clipping mask)

So if you tend to use that function for clipping masks you better not be a pixel off when you click or prepare to go for a zoom ride.

The function itself is not a bad idea, but the implementation is pretty ridiculous.

I just checked my version (Mac), which the app manager shows as up to date at v21.0.1
I'm here because the headache of this "feature" is driving me crazy on a current project. I thought there was a workaround, but I'm not finding it.
