I seem to be having a lot of random crashes since updating to PS 2023. I'm running the current update of Monterey MacOS on an M1 Max MBP. These crashes aren't taking the program down fully, but more typically, unputting simple commands just don't do anything (ie flatten, or merge layers, but could be almost any common command. Sometimes it's all commands, and sometimes just a subset). I can usually still save the file and quit,. I haven't seen a version of PS this unstable in a very long time. Anyone else seeing it?

If you option+click the Ps icon on the dock, does it bring forward a dialog that was hidden and making Photoshop seem to be frozen?

Everything seems fine on my M1 MBP.
Try logging into another account (you may need to make one), still crashing?
Try starting up in Safe mode (hold down Shift Key when booting), still crashing?
You might want to try running a free utility like Onyx: still crashing?

I'ts been a few days since I've been working in PS consistently throughout the day so I haven't seen it get unresponsive. Previously, I'd added a new studio display to my set-up and noticed several times an unnoticed dialogue was popping up on the mbp screen that was causing what you describe. The freezes I was seeing seem different. I can access menu items and do some things, but when clicking a command via menu or keyboard shortcut, the command doesn't execute. (I haven't tried the dock solution you suggested, as I haven't had a freeze recently). To your other question, I believe I did send a crash report on two occasions.

Hmm. I did a search for the email address you've used to log into the forum for your crash reports. It's possible you didn't include your email address or use the same email address you use here when you submitted the crash. If it happens agains, be sure to enter the email address you use here when you submit the crash reporter log.
