RAW editor re-opens after canceling or switching to PS editor

Having issues with RAW editor re-opening a number of times when either cancelling an image edit session or switching to PS editor.  This does not always occur, but is very frequent.

When a RAW image is open in RAW editor:
1- From the RAW editor: When clicking on Cancel (to end the RAW edit of an image) the image begins to close but immediately the RAW editor re-opens the image to continue the RAW editor session.
I have to click on Cancel again (sometimes this occurs 1, 2 or 3 times in a row for a given image).

2- From the RAW editor: When clicking on Open (to edit image in PS such as to add layers etc), the image begins to open in PS editor but then quickly closes and the RAW editor re-opens the image to continue the RAW editor session. I have to click on Open again (sometimes this occurs 1, 2 or 3 times in a row)

"RAW editor" being Adobe Camera Raw?

Try resetting the Camera Raw preferences:
Hold down the Command key and select Photoshop > Preferences > Camera Raw (macOS*) or hold down the Ctrl key and select Edit > Preferences > Camera Raw (Windows).
Click Yes in the dialog that asks "Delete the Camera Raw Preferences?"

Thank you.. I followed those steps to clear the RAW preferences.
Seemed a little more stable but I was able to still reproduce the issue.

I am opening the image from Adobe Bridge via double click which calls up PhotoShop which then opens the CAMERAW RAW editor.  That said, I will instead open directly in CAMERA RAW using Crtl-R from Adobe Bridge and see if that has an effect.  Will post my results here.

Solved this issue by using shortcut keys to open images from Adobe Bridge. 

CTRL+R

Select image in Adobe Bridge then hold CRTL key and press R.

Raw editor will open and no problem closing it when done.. will not reopen uncommanded.
No further repetitive opening issues.

Hope this helps anyone else having this problem.
