When I click on "Select Subject" and opt to use the cloud version for better results, it is no longer working. The cloud version always worked before and all of a sudden just stopped. When I click on it, nothing happens. Can anybody help? Thank you!!!
Hi @jt20042, Select Subject > Cloud (Detailed results) is working for me using Photoshop 26.2.0 Release on Windows 10.
Try closing Photoshop and quitting Creative Cloud Desktop, then launch the Desktop app before opening Photoshop. Check to see if you can sync your Libraries just to make sure you are connected to the Cloud all the way through. If that doesn't work, try manually resetting your preferences. Thanks for the help, J E L. I tried what you said, but unfortunately it still isn't working the way it previously did. I would simply just click on the quick selection tool on the left then up above it has the Select Subject drop down to choose from either Device (Quicker) or Cloud (Detailed). I would click Cloud and it would automatically select my subject. All of a sudden that stopped working. When I click Cloud now nothing happens. I deleted my PS preferences to reset them and I get a message telling me to open library to sync my Cloud which I did, but the problem still persists. Am I doing something wrong? I am new to this. Thanks!!!!
@jt20042, sorry that you are still having problems. It seems you are doing everything correctly. My suggestion is to roll back to the previous version and see if you can use the cloud feature successfully. To roll back, from Creative Cloud Desktop, choose “Other versions” and then install the previous release. If you are successful there, then maybe your current system configuration isn't compatible with the newer release or there is some other underlying condition particular to your setup. Let us know if it works when you roll back.
J E L, i tried rolling back from 26.2 to 26.1 but still no luck and the problem of using Cloud to select my subject still exists. I am using Windows 11 and just purchased this HP laptop two weeks ago. Guess I'm going to have to live with using the Device Selection. Who knows maybe it will fix itself at some point. Thanks.

Hi @jt20042, thanks for posting your system info. I see you are running an integrated GPU Intel UHD graphics card that hasn't been updated for 11 months. Photoshop prefers a dedicated graphics card. Also, the memory available to Photoshop is very low at only 5.2 GB of RAM. Adobe recommends at least 8 GB of RAM for a smoother experience, and 16 GB or more is ideal for handling complex tasks and multiple open documents. You can try the setting under Edit > Preferences > Technology Previews by checking “Older GPU mode (pre 2016)” to see if it makes a difference. But I think your current system is going to have difficulty with Photoshop's newer AI features.
